The total estimated scam amount is the same as the entire 2010 budget for the dutch ministry of health, quality of life and sports (64 billion euros).
For a small percentage of that amount you could employ people to check 100% of the claims. All around the world there seem to be governments wasting money, but in this case simple economics makes not checking 100% of the claims just plain stupid.
Also, how on earth can someone submit on avarage 1.7 claims per day (365 days a year!) for 6 years without someone noticing?

It was one of Obama's points when he was trying to reform health care. It was pointed out that they may have to hire 100,000 people to take care of it.

There is always a scumbag out for a quick buck, unfortunately govt authorities are always stingy as fook anyway.

My stalker is really ill atm with severe adrenal failure and she cannot get the synthetic ACTH replacement she needs, now she sleeps 20+ hours a day and can hardly walk a few hundred yards.

And shes on a very low income, she can't really work like that, and I worry myself sick about her, such a lovely woman, the sweetest person you could ever hope to meet, and she gets left without any help at all thanks to medicare refusing to fund what she needs:/

I am in the UK, she is in the US, and yes, she is indeed my stalker, but since she first contacted me on AFF,  we started talking and we became close friends, the is, for a stalker, not at all deranged, and is one of the sweetest, loveliest people I have ever known, I love her to bits.

I wish I was financially better off, I might be able to clone the human ACTH hormone gene(s?) into a bacterium such as E.coli and produce an injectable form of it then, I wish I could afford to but since I have to support myself and another person from here (squirrel) who is living with me financially I have just about enough to eat, and slowly siphon off some cash into a microbiology project that might, if I am lucky, hopefully make me a good several grand, but it isn't going to pay off in less than a few years.
