They're not all banned, just the Fred Phelps guy and maybe one or two others. They're banned because they express views, the content and nature of which are not permitted in the UK. Saves us the hassle and expense of having to arrest and prosecute them.

I'm not for their views, but I'm all for their expression of such views, even though they are hateful, ignorant, and possibly just incestuous white trash. To be against an expression of views different from our own would be against the First Amendment of the US Constitution.

There were those who argued at the time that they shouldn't have been banned for what they might say, but instead allowed to come here, and if they did say or do anything they shouldn't, then action should be taken against them. I'd be inclined to that perspective myself, but to be honest, I'm not that bothered either way.

I used to hate Lady GaGa. It felt as if she was hell bent on burning her image on the backs of my retinas and wanted her to go away and stop assaulting my eyes. She grew on me eventually. Like moss.
