That's a loaded question...there are many reasons. Just because he irritates me sometimes doesn't mean I don't love him.

I'm actually one of those guys that has relatively exhaustive carnal desires

I always have to chuckle whenever a guy says something like that!  You all seem to have such a complicated system of hydraulics, and usually conk out after just one or two climaxes!  Whereas most women (given time, inclination and no kids/worries to distract her) can usually manage four or five, no problem.  Which is one reason I think that women tend to get more interested in sex during our 40's, since the kids are grown up, the job/life is organized, etc.  

Then it's a crashing let-down, after everything starts to run smoothly, when you hit menopause and discover to your horror that you really WOULD rather have a nice cup of tea and a nap to rolling in the hay!

Yeah, it's a real downer that the genders are so out of sync, biologically-speaking!  Young teenage males/mature 40-something women!  Which probably explains the interest in cougar/cub relationships nowadays.
