RE: random thoughts

I think I might have a look for the prescription for varifocals I got at the end of last year, as I noticed a poster advertising free varifocals from one particular opticians.  I'll have to check the poster again to see which optician!

Glasses which help with distance vision and close work, such as reading.  Similar to bifocals, but with a more graduated change in the lens (I think).

I've been wearing glasses for distance vision for a while, usually just to drive, but am now finding that when I go suddenly from close work to looking further away I see double.

Oh.... interesting,

I don't know if they have this kind of eye wear in the States or not.

I'm sure they do, but it seems that most people, like me, are blissfully ignorant of it until they get into their forties. Sad

RE: random thoughts

I am thinking - Can I just chill out and leave my kids playing outside ?- or will I be (slightly too watchful) and over-mothering and make them come in...? (it is getting dark here)

There are a lot of other kids out there-- (in our yard and the adjacent yard) and some of them are younger--- the dog is on a leash --

My oldest son is into a new phase - capturing prisoners...and he is the oldest one out there...

Since I type this I have called out instructions -- twice... once out the window...
( I sound like a wreck don't I? It is harder when there are younger people out there...) one girl is 6!

Are yards the same as gardens?

I don't think so - Here a garden has flowers and plants... (I have a small one) a yard is the property one owns that is around ones house.

(thinking: oldest son! stop yelling out the 9 year old girls name out so loud!) playing manhunt... sort of like hide and seek...

In our neighborhood, there are about 6 houses/yards connected and they have children and they sometimes mix together...(no boundaries except for two backyards that have pools... No one runs in the streets...

Thanks. Smile  I still can't visualise it though.  To me, a yard conjures up images of a more industrial type - a builder's yard or a coal merchant's yard.  Not somewhere you would play. Smile

Can you tempt the children in with something?

RE: random thoughts

A yard is all grass (and trees and walkways and some flowers and shrubs - all landscaped)

Tempt them? LOL! Oh I can just call them in and say it is over (I am one of those - they are used to it)...

They are having so much fun (and fresh air) ..

Bed time is 8PM (yes, on a Friday) I am trying to loosen up.

The Phoenix always rises. I have come back from ashes several times in my life.

the only tattoo I want is a Phoenix rising from the ashes, with a beautiful long tail.

Remember you can always rise again ! Smile
