What was your worst OCD "episode"?

The worst thing OCD has ever made me do, if  can say that.... Was about a year ago when I played 14 hours straight of Dead Rising to get 20G on my gamer score. The worst is that I had an exam the following day but I had to get it, there was no way not to. I know it was and is completely ridiculous but I couldn't help it.

Can't remember a specific. I like things to be in neat sets to be in the right order or it will drive me nuts.

I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it will be with a knife.

RE: What was your worst OCD "episode"?

I don't have OCD, but I have OCD moments. Like with my room. I have everything exactly where I want them. My mom sees a mess, but it's organized to me. It takes me less than 15 seconds to find anything unless I misplaced it, then it could be hours. Also, I have to use proper grammar and spelling, if I don't, I freak out. I hate poor grammar and spelling, including IM abbreviations.

You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward." Rocky Balboa

Did you score a passing grade on the exam even though you were up 14 hrs?

If I remember well, it was a chemistry exam so there was no way, even if I hadn't studied at all that I was going to fail. My perfomance was, of course, below par...

It is best to talk about what I feel, Most have no idea what that is inexpressible ... is like a strong and constant physical pain, chills, fear, awestricken, despair ... errrr

I tend to have panic/nervous break downs when I am comfronted with something I am obsessed with. I try to avoid my obsessions as they get extreme.

RE: What was your worst OCD "episode"?

I checked that my door was closed all the way so many times that the door jamb broke inside the wall.  I happened to have some tools in my room so I took the pins out of the hinges and took the doorknob out but I still couldn't get through the door.  I had to pee.  I was up all night trying to get my family to wake up from my room.  At like 6am my sister woke up and went and got my mom.  In the end my dad had to saw through the door to get me out, as my mom and sister stood by and laughed.  It's one of our favorite stories.

RE: What was your worst OCD "episode"?

The need to check that all lights in the house are switched off...(that gets me in a lot of trouble with my mother or father)...even sometimes when my parents are still up.
Re-checking that the front door is locked and my bed is ''clear'' of imaginary things.

Although I think my mother would say that my worst OCD obsession was with the Lion King.  That really annoyed her..still does.

But if it involves a subject and not a compulsive need to do an action or something like that, doesn't it qualify as an aspie obsession?

RE: What was your worst OCD "episode"?

um.. well let me first off by noting that and unless i am wrong please correct me someone.. but OCD can mean anything to anyone and that it doesn't necessarily need to be repetitive behavior or thoughts.. but things you do as well...?? anyway the worst OCD episode i ever had was nearly 9 years ago i think?... back when they said that the power would go out and the world would end because of some new years glitch?  anyway i went out and bought nearly $300.00 of disaster survival gear thinking that indeed after the stroke of midnight hysteria would ensue only to find out after buying all the gear that this never happened... nevertheless my mom was peeved and i ended up having to take the receipts and return all the merchandise i bought for a refund in cash...

No,  OCD cannot mean anything to anyone.  It is a specific mental disorder.  And so far as I know, one can have aspie obsessions and they do not have to have anything to do with OCD.  I DO have OCD but my autism related obsessions are not even remotely related to my OCD.  They are two entirely different things, even if they do tend to be comorbid.

RE: What was your worst OCD "episode"?

I have a tendency, when it applies, to check if my locker is locked multiple times. I have numerous obsessive thoughts. I get addicted to a lot of things, including this site (I open about 400-500 pages a day and spend multiple hours) I cannot not check every two minutes. To be honest, I wanted to buy a PS3 initially but me being as obsessive as I am, I bought the Xbox 360 because of it's gamer score... The list goes on and on....

The only times when I'm not here is when I am on another addiction. Fortunately and strangely, I am very good at detecting addictions to substances and cannot get addicted to them because of that early detection...

Sounds like you slammed the door and the door got stuck. Likely the bolt also got stuck.
