I am new on this site today and trying to upload a pic for my avatar in user profile. I keep getting a site that says I am not permitted to do this. Is this feature unavailable to new users?

You can't upload here, you have to hotlink.

well i hope pikajedi3 can help me too - i havent got a clue how to make myself an avatar - i have a scene from the simpsons that i often use as my desktop wallpaper to maintain my sense of who i am - how can i copy or convert it that so i can use it as my avatar for my AFF profile

NB i would email pikajedi3 and ask him direct but i cant even do that - the AFF operating system tells me i dont have rights to email pikajedi3

this is what i get when i click PM -

Ahh maybe this means that I have to enable PMs

You can block individual members, that way you can still get PMs from people and send them. You just won't get PMs from people who you have on your ignore list.

it'll take me 20 years to figure out how to use all this new fangled stuff - sheesh

but at least i have an avatar now - it represents where i go in my head each time i settle down to go to sleep - i'm not as apprehensive about god as homer is - god is my best non human friend
