RE: monsters under the bed
I saw the brady bunch episode when they were in hawaii and a tarantula crawled onto peter's chest while he was sleeping, and slept with my head underneath the covers for years.

Whales like moby dick?
Yes! There's something about the way they look coming up out of the water.

Yeah, they can identify with the themes.
someone pretending to be a mine
I'm stuck on this idea. It's brilliant. Miming sarcastically.
Oh, you're funny! My nine year old likes to torment his brother by pretending to be a mime.

RE: monsters under the bed
It's interesting reading this thread and then remembering that most NTs think Autistics have no imagination. They should look at our fears and nightmares. It's not always about logic with us, at least, not the childhood fears. It seems to me reading this that most of us have either grown out of or learnt to deal with the childhood fears. Has anybody got a childhood fear that they didn't grow out of?

Big black moths!
I love moths. They are so cute!

RE: monsters under the bed
When I was little I used to look under the bed, and out ALL of the windows in the house to see if there were any monsters, every night before I went to bed..

I love your avatar! I used to look in my closets and all that but it only made me more scared. One night I slept in the living room, where there are lots of windows, right next to the front door and I slept like a baby.

They are! My son calls all moths "Matha" and thinks they are his friends.

RE: monsters under the bed
Moths make me cry, so do fireflies. 2 years ago a firefly got in the house and, there I was, under the desk, covering myself with a chair, crying and screaming until mom came in, opened the window and that horrible thing flew out of the house.
She laughed and continued with her day.
Thats too my common reaction to moths.

I do that occasionally with bugs that bite or sting. Wasps are so scary and fly near you making you jump. The sound of their wings scares me too.
