RE: password issue

I'm baffled, but I've contacted Pika.

RE: password issue

PM me, I'll need to ask you a few questions to verify your identity, then I can reset your password for you.

RE: password issue

Just to be clear, in future the best course of action is to email me (gareth@garethnelson.com) or pika (if he's up for giving out his address here) from the email address you registered with, the new password can then be sent back to that same address.

RE: password issue

One way is to use firefox as a browser and ask it to remember. I can't remember mine all the time so works well for me. Mind blanks that seemingly come from nowhere.

Rule 2. Refer to rule 1.

RE: password issue

That has issues, I leave it remembered for convenience sake, but if you ever lose your installation somehow then you're going need to remember your password using ye olde wetware.

RE: password issue

I do keep my passwords written down somewhere safe just in case and crucial data backed up elsewher on another networked computer, disc etc. We have lost more than a few hard drives (my son just read this and informed me the total is 4) and other stuff when storms are about as they get pretty violent and sudden here with little to no warning. I suppose I could isolate the mains power supply to the  eliminate the problem. I have done that in a business and it works well, but, sigh, where does one stop.

Another 3 free computers from down the road. The guy was taking them to the dump do my son scavenged them, recycled, so we now have another one with a weird concoction of parallel hardware. Cost, $10 for a stick of ram and 2 older 30 G hard drives.

RE: password issue

My password on here was one of my usual ones, till I got mod status - now it's a 16 character abomination that I can't remember for the life of me.

...really shouldn't have merged all my accounts. Don't like logging in as a mod on unsecured machines.
