My boyfriend says my eyes point in different directions.


That was new. I thought I'd heard it all, but I'd never heard that one before.


I hadn't noticed. Not once in my life. I suppose that when you look in the mirror often you're staring right into your eyes so your eyes are in line when you actually look at them, so you don't end up finding out that your eyes point in different directions until someone shows you a high-resolution, blown-up picture of yourself where you're just natural, not staring or concentrating on anything. Though I haven't seen such a picture of me yet, I believe Stan because he isn't a liar. Or he's very good at lying.


He says this is one among other things that proves I am not neurologically typical. (Though he doesn't believe anymore that I have a PDD, he says he believes I have schizophrenia but then in the same email says that he believes I have a neurological abnormality as opposed to a chemical abnormality and that it looks sometimes like a PDD, sometimes like schizophrenia, sometimes like depression. Yet not long ago, and while knowing all this, he listed in a list he made of bad things about me [or rather, things I needed to improve]that I was in denial about having psychiatric problems. "Psychiatric" was a word he used.)

Oh, and nobody else in my life ever noticed my eyes pointing in different directions either.

If your eyes did point in different directions then someone would have pointed it out to you before now.

You'd think they would, unless it's just very subtle... if it was majorly so, the kids at school would have picked on me for it; they picked on me for stupider things than that.

According to my mom, mine do when I am angry.

According to one of my old friends, mine just change color when I'm angry.

Ana54, did he say how often it's noticeable?  Could it be that your eyes only occasionally do this?  I know that every so often I lose stereoscopic vision and my eyes stop working together for a few minutes, but I've never run to a mirror when this happens.

That feels like it only happens when I don't have my glasses on.

Many years ago I knew a guy whose eyes changed colour when he was angry, and violent with it.  That's the only time I've ever seen that happen.  He was a scary guy to be around (I'm not suggesting you are. ) and now he's a cop!

I had "lazy eye" when I was little (one eye would point outward after awhile), and the eye doctor had me to do exercises to strengthen the muscles.  The problem apparently went away, because I haven't had anyone to mention it to me since then.  (I'm 51 now.)

Yeah, but only when I have my glasses off, as a result of botched eye surgery that left me astigmatic.

He said he noticed it a lot more times than he mentioned it.

I just realized... maybe those people didn't notice anything because I DIDN'T LOOK AT THEM. People I feel safe around I can look at and that's why they notice my odd eyes and the others don't.

I am astigmatic too but I havent got said that they look in different directions.

I crunch with my teeth though. I didnt know this until I was living with my partner , since before I always slept alone in my room and there wasnt anybody to tell me..

When I was younger I tried to train my eyes to be able to point out in the same way I could cross them, you know?  but it gave me a headache and I didn't stick with it.
My eyes also change colour.
