I think he is referring to real people but having an imaginary
conversation with them....

As for myself I only have enough room for me, myself, and ITongue

I go over in my head what I would like to say to people ..if I could. If usually comes out of my mouth way different. Speaking to people is not my special interest.

I was just being a bit facetious with my earlier post...Yes some times I
do run simulated dialogs and scenarios involving people I know and have observed for a very long time...I do not always get the results I expect in real life.

I would expect such simulations to be common among us on the Autism Spectrum because spontaneity is not one of our strong points.

I rehearse conversations too; but, as others have said, it is usually pointless because the other person doesn't have the script! Rolleyes

Special interest? Hmmm… which one of the many do I choose? Big Grin

I am quite alone in here, also. And sometimes I am not here either.

My special interest is playing music, better

I like to paint with acrylics and water color. I also like to sketch.

RE: quick experiament

I wish I had that pocket watch from that old Twilight Zone episode inwhich time stops.  This way I could stop time and think about all responses prior to opening my mouth.  However, in the real world if I have time I always try to be prepared if I am aware of the conversation.  I go over it repeatively in my head.  Needless to say, it rarely works out because they don't stay on the topic I so despirately worked on.  Also, if the conversation has more than one other person involved I just avoid it.  I never know when it is my turn and I am never sure when it is time to change the subject matter.  I guess I am not a very social person!  LOL

RE: quick experiament

Yes I do the conversations in my head thing... special interests I have quite a few of, but very little time to devote to anything. Sewing, knitting/crochet, dying yarn, baking, languages, history, most humanities subjects, mythology.

Can't wait till my eldest starts school... more time would be lovely! I am nowhere near good enough at any of those as I would like to be, and barely dabbling in others.
