obligatory army for everyone!!!...?

do you think that obligatory army for everyone should be good also for autist and aspie?

I didn't know if I should put this subject in education or treatment in society. Well, my choice has been taken for education.

My opinion is that I think that discipline and firmness is good for everyone. In a society where everyone deplores, I think aspie's life quality getting worse than in a society where discipline reigns. I don't mean terror...

RE: obligatory army for everyone!!!...?

I voted No

Because I belive that people should be free to do waht they wish with their lives rather than be forced into an enviroment where they are treated lower than dogs and run the risk of having their lives cut short.

I think Obligatory army service is no good for [/u]everyone[/u] regardless of Neurotype

I personally hate routine and structure with a passion and very often challenge things.....Imagine someone like me being forced into army work.........yeah I can say there'll be quite a few fireworks ahead! Big Grin

RE: obligatory army for everyone!!!...?

Not particularly. Maybe if it had a public service alternative.

I am getting too old for the army anyway. I am 39 now. Next year I am 40. The only thing I will be old enough for is the regular Army and enlistment is only until I hit age 43 (because we are desperate as hell, not too long ago the cutoff age was only, uh, 35).

We've never drafted anyone over 45. That was World War II. We did register up to age 65.

The last thing the Army wants is an old man with an education.   They want young kids who do what they are told and don't think or ask questions.  Besides I still have health problems. Sleep apnea, medication for type II diabetes, medication for depression.

1. They don't want someone snoring the rest of the regiment awake
2. Bifocals? I don't think so.
3. Sugar sluggishness-- not in the middle of a firefight
4. That guy with depression, uh, you partner with him, no, you partner with him, no, you partner with him he's gonna get me killed....

RE: obligatory army for everyone!!!...?

As for me if a sergeant went straight up to my face and barked an order in it I'd either......

A. Beat the living *** out of him
or
B. Shout back twice as loud
or
C. Make a sarcastic jibe directed at him
or
D. Deliberatley disobey him

Although on the plus side they do have one-gender tents/regiments....

Hmm............ Where can I sign up! Tongue
