Do you listen to  Classical music?

I do, I find it very good to listen to. Easy listening, other music hurts my ears.

My favourite composer is Bach, because every note he composed was measured mathematically. As a pattern, a system. (I probably sound slightly eccentric but I feel relaxed when I listen to his music). I do also like Grieg (Hall of the mountain king especially) and Vivaldi (Four seasons).

There are many composers; so I apologise if I didn't put your favourite in the poll (that's why I put 'Other' as an option).  It will be interesting to see, who is the most popular composer anyway.

Wagner and Le'rue Delashay - the latter being a modern composer of dark classical as it's called.

I've heard of Wagner, never had the pleasure of listening to his music compositions.  As for Le'rue Delashay, I'll have to look out for him.

I also like Hans Zimmer's compositions, but does he count?  As I wasn't certain.

For 'Other', see Frank Zappa.

Interesting career that Frank Zappa had.

I've never listened to his music.  I'll listen to his extracts on wikipedia tomorrow. Everyone here is asleep.

I've been in Wagners bedroom. It was in Bavaria.

When I had a piano I used to like Bach the most.
I like Pachelbel also.

I don't, but I could. I'm gonna download some just to try. The composers are all dead anyway, not like they'll mind.

The performers and conductors are alive though, so you can still actually "pirate" mozart.

Oh. Well I'm sure they're in it for the music, not the money. Tongue

RE: Do you listen to  Classical music?

I've got recordings of all of the above apart from Orff - not that I have anything against old Carl. Carmina Burana rocks!!

As the player's breath warms the fipple the tone clears.
It is time to consider how Domenico Scarlatti
condensed so much music into so few bars
with never a crabbed turn or congested cadence,
never a boast or a see-here; and stars and lakes
echo him and the copse drums out his measure,
snow peaks are lifted up in moonlight and twilight
and the sun rises on an acknowledged land.

Basil Bunting, Briggflatts
