EvilZakkie's Banners

EZ has put forward a brilliant idea in the activism forum, but only activists can post there. So I started this thread for general discussion of the idea.

On a related note, I'd like to welcome Tigger_the_Wingz, Ocampo2 & 2EM to the activists group... *grins*

None of me is an activist and doesn't want to be... but I really like this.  Keep me informed, comrades.  Smile

RE: EvilZakkie's Banners

I've thought about doing things that only can be read from above. I noticed a number of large white hay-bales sitting by a backroad near the local airport. I counted them and there were enough of them to write aspies for freedom. The letters would sit on a surface measuring roughly 3x3 feet. It's not an original idea in Sweden and it wouldn't destroy the hay and the fabric anyway becomes trash after use.

RE: EvilZakkie's Banners

If timing were different,  it would be a great exercise in the lead-up to APD... more and more unexplained rainbow infinities popping uup all over the place and then on APD we unveil what it was all about.

But, that would mean waiting almost a year to implement this...  Pleh to that!

Just wanted to echo this post from the other thread:

After all, if we can't get 10-20 people actually willing to put up a banner, then the discussion of what sort of banner we put up becomes fairly pointless...

RE: EvilZakkie's Banners

I like the banner idea too. I just figured out the perfect place to hang it. The backwall of this house is a huge green rectangle roughly measuring 24x60 feet. The landlord is a strange lady and I can't see that she'd explode if that banner got up there. Don't know if I should give her a call about it, though.

What size banner are you figuring; 6x4 feet? A horizontal rainbow on a white bottom. Should it include some type of note or message so the media could investigate its origin?

6x4 should be plenty - I'm just thinking of buying up some sheets from a  second-hand store, and painting it on that.

As far as media goes, I'm thinking press releases to them after there's been a bit of confused conversation happening... *grins*
