Joining a fraternity/sorority

Have you ever joined a fraterity/sorority? If you did, what is the name of it, and type (social, service, professional, academic).

My case, I am an alumni of Sigma Lambda Sigma Service Sorority.

I am NOT looking for anyone's opinions on fraterity/sorority life, especially if they never joined one. I am looking for those that actually joined one. Who knows, you may realize that you may have a fraterity brother/sorority sister on here.

I went through rush but got rejected by all of them.  In retrospect, what was I thinking?  It was painful at the time, though.

Maybe the Greek organizations on campus are not a good fit for you and there is another one for you. Or you found out that Greek life is not for you.

Do such organisations exist in the UK?

As the player's breath warms the fipple the tone clears.
It is time to consider how Domenico Scarlatti
condensed so much music into so few bars
with never a crabbed turn or congested cadence,
never a boast or a see-here; and stars and lakes
echo him and the copse drums out his measure,
snow peaks are lifted up in moonlight and twilight
and the sun rises on an acknowledged land.

I know how it all works, I've seen all the movies. I'd have to join one of those nerd fraternities that comes up with brilliant schemes to wreak havoc upon the jocks and the cool guys.

In Australia the universities have residential colleges. I don't know much about them, but they do seem similar.

I was in Phi Theta Kappa, but I don't know if that counts.
