Making AFF more presentable
I make this thread in reaction to this thread.
Think we need some ideas to how we could make AFF more presentable and organized with those few things we can easily do - like making stickified threads that could eg give information of general misconceptions about our stands - this would also be for those who want to give a shot at advocating for neurodiversity, I've seen abit of mud-slinging from those...

You're post is stuck into my thoughts now. I can't really comment now. Way to chaotic in my brain to come up with something constructive. I think it's a good question. The opening page is of course allready giving much good information. I like the new version. But you might be right that it could be more.
Maybe becoming more 'presentable' is possible in 'presenting' ourselves more. e.g. by letters sent by members and signed by members. Not 'presenting' these letters allways as the vision of AFF, but as a vision shared by many members of AFF.
Coming up with something big representing us all is allmost impossible imo, because we all are so different from each other. And it is the difference we are celebrating on AFF. There are a lot of subjects were there's no consensus of all members. The introduction on the opening page is what is inviting I think.

This is very sensible. I think that it would also be of benefit to impose restrictions on posters who troll.
An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial and usually irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the intention of baiting other users into an emotional response[1] or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.
This is just an idea, but other forums have this, and if we all worked to the same rules then the forum would improve in quality.

RE: Making AFF more presentable
Maybe the threads would just all drop off the main page - sue to inactivity - if no one came on and bumped them = maybe some topics should just drop off the screen - or maybe some important topics should be given a priority rating so that the page with the active threads always shows them...or shows them for a particular amount of days - and any posts that come on and are off topic - on those priority threads - the ones meant to be serious or to be forwarded or disseminated around for advocacy or awareness purposes would be held up to higher standards - as far as language use (foul I mean) and focus on topic....

I meant to say but did not finish the thought - that on some priority threads - posts off topic or with foul languange would be deleted or somehow it would be known not to "play" there - and if someone does mess with a thread - they would be temp banned or something and then the mods would delete? (I know nothing of computers)

I think this forum allows deletion of posts, so this is technologcally feasible.
I think we need to resurrect the wiki. For the casual visitor, it's a much better source of information(either that or start a new wiki, but it seems a shame to lose the data in the old one)

RE: Making AFF more presentable
a Wiki, such as Wikipedia is a way of presenting information in a form that is easily editable, and editable by anyone (if no restrictions are applied).
another example is the Wookiepedia

So it would be an AFF created reference source? Yeah? Sounds good!
