Hold Out Hope

I know that there's so much negautivity around, but looking at this article from 1966, there is a precedent to this negative medicalization and characterization we experience, and things do get better.

article Wrote:
It is a pathetic little second-rate substitute for reality, a pitiable flight from life. As such it deserves fairness, compassion, understanding and, when possible, treatment. But it deserves no encouragement, no glamorization, no rationalization, no fake status as minority martyrdom, no sophistry about simple differences in taste—and, above all, no pretense that it is anything but a pernicious sickness.

RE: Hold Out Hope

Genocide is defined as "any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial, social, political, economic, intellectual, familial, genetic, or religious group, as such: killing members of the group; causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; [and] forcibly transferring children of the group to another group."

RE: Hold Out Hope

It means that what was controversial then is controversial now, and that the more times change, the more things stay the same.
