If ten times the enemy's strength, surround them; if five times, attack them; if double, divide them; if equal, be able to fight them; if fewer, be able to evade them; if weaker, be able to avoid them.
All warfare is based on deception.
If your enemy is choleric, seek to anger him.

I think its very nearly too late.
they have the weight of popular opinion-maybe if some prominent, well liked figure where to "come out"-say,Tim Burton or a famous actor- then some people may reconsider...

The light blinds
So behold darkness as our new light
In our darkness we can see
So with others blindness
We take flight.

Yes, well, before I get into a lather about it, I like to think that such medical pronouncements need to be taken with a grain of salt. For instance, I remember, back in the sixties, that cancer would be a thing of the past by the beginning of next century (ie, now), we would also be all living on the moon or Mars by now, those of us still on Earth would get about not by cars but by personal jetpacks/slidewalks/hoverplanes, and that war would either be : a)unthinkable ;
or b)with little green invaders from other planets.
So-called "experts" are always making portentious statements, but it seems none of them ever come true. Other things happen instead.
Personally I don't think we have to have a war with the NTs or design a gene-specific virus to attack them. I think more and more autistics will just keep being born. The human race is evolving onwards, and Homo Sapiens sapiens is giving rise to it's own descendant and replacement: Homo Sapiens Autist.

I was making my own little portentious statement ;D
And yes, I was being ironic! (Never have managed the knack for that; people keep thinking I'm either mad, serious, or both ... )

The thing is that it already has happened with Downs Syndrome - and it's not much of a stretch to say the same idea would be used with Autism. The only reason Downs Syndrome has survived it is because it's mostly mutation based, not genetically inherited.
That being said, I don't think we have to have "a war" with NT's, or anything like that - aside from the fact that they outnumber us and we would lose, I don't think NT's are really the bad guys.
I don't really think that we'll "replace" NT's either - there's no reason we can't co-exist. Indeed, at quite a few points in history different species of humans were co-existing.
What we do have to do is look at is stepping up the public relations campaign. Hopefully, as groups such as AFF start growing in numbers, this will take care of itself, but I also think that we need to be doing some more direct things, just in case.
Personally, I plan to get more involved in the celebrity letter-writing campaign, and work on trying to get an "antisocial group" up and running in Brisbane, Australia. I figure it's as good a place to start as any.

RE: Oh no, the horror...
What Genocide, While unplesant and iritating I doubt that all NT will abort children imediatly with the knowlege that they have a high functioning mental condition. I am not saying that some dumb narsacist in some back water town will not try to kill her kid 5 months in becasue it was diffrent, but we generaly have laws and religion to prevent that. Also they couldn't try to round us up like the Nazis did becasue it would totally ineficiant, Imagine it milions of specialty workers rounded up a killed, I know it happed in the holocaust but really in todays computer and math orientated world why would civilized society kill the people proficiant in their everyday entertainment and media.
Do you really want to read my mind.

The main problem is that on the genetic level, there's probably not much difference between functioning levels - So the parent will hear "autism" and think of the extreme negative stereotypes of Autism being circulated, not realising what Autistic means in real terms. This means that people will often choose to abort their child - if it happens enough, then we're wiped out.
I believe the rates will be similar to the abortion rates for Downs Syndrome - 91-93%.

RE: Oh no, the horror...
There's already a test. It's called an amniocentesis in which a long needle is inserted through the mothers stomach and into a vein in the umbilical cord. The fluid drawn out tells you whatever you want to know about the child. However it is only recommended for women in their late 30's and beyond who are pregnant because doing the procedure could result in spontaneous abortion of the fetus or the child could wind up with mental disabilities because of it. Many doctors even ask the people before they have it done, "is it really going to matter if the child has problems" before they do anything about it. It really is a fairly uncommon procedure. Also, if they're that worried about it to begin with, they can go to Manhattan and spend 40k to get a baby with the exact color eyes & hair they want, and the sex they want, and the brain or body they want.
