If YOU could be God, what would YOU do?
Here is what I would do:

1.  I would have made a lifelong commitment of two men or two women parallel with a lifelong commitment between one and the other and NOT criminalized one of them.

You can take this at full face value Max.  I've never had a personal problem with a gay person.  (I forget what my mom said about which gay friend of dad's was what in their wedding, they seemed OK with that too)

2.  I'd make the birth process a lot easier and no one would die from it
3.  I'd demand blood for blood shed, death for murderers, and I would kill them Myself
4.  I'd strike down all those whose greed would cause them to harm or kill anyone or others, even if they were high and mighty
5.  War would not happen.  I'd lay waste to the aggressor first.
6.  Rapists would have to lose a part of their party
7.  People who verbally abuse members of their family would have to lose another respective part of their body
8.  I wouldn't make sex pleasurable, unless it is designed to disarm someone emotionally in a loving relationship.  I'd make love even more pleasurable, add a extrasensory perceptive angle to it.
9.  There would have to be some sort of way to judge people on character not looks or game playing or money, maybe prophets or wise people could evaluate people in My name
10.  Relationship abusers would have to be marked people so no one would go near them again

With respect to Virginia politics, the only thing I can really understand is the regulation of immigration.

People will let things get out of hand if you let them with respect to things like welfare and immigration.

America has to learn to solve its own employment problems with the people it already has.

People in America who might theoretically be able to work should be working and paying taxes.

It also needs to enforce its laws, any law, every law, reasonably regulate human behavior with not more than some tolerable degree of error.  If a country can't do that, it is finished, especially in a time of war or invasion.

During the next pandemic flu, I would cringe to think how many undocumented persons were bringing it with them.

i would give normal people a chance to see what i see when i look in the eyes of a lost soul. expashilly those teens contamplating suiside.they NEED to know what they are planning.i've seen to many crossover like that.

i would rebuild this plain, first i would bring the the souls i had left on the earth back to me with thier awareness.and have them help me  create.then i would after i finish set a  clestail daycare up.

I really don't think God is being fair to gay people, the only difference is that I do not take it personally.  Gay?  Bisexual?  You call that evil?  The only thing I can call that is different, at worst, wierd, but then again, as a virgin, sex across the board seems wierd and the least bit gross.

Christians still get to have an opinion, and I guess even to say it.

I haven't seen in the bible that god hates gays or disapproves of homosexuality. I don't think you are being fair to gay people by assuming that god doesn't like their way of life; though perhaps I'm wrong, maybe you have researched this and found incredibly conclusive evidence in a verse that backs your belief. I haven't seen one. How are you so incredibly certain that being a christian means you believe that god has a problem with homosexuality?

Romans 1 verse something says it is unnatural, somewhere in Levicitus prescribed the death penalty for people in the nation of Israel caught having same-sex sex.  Mind you the nation of Israel at one point in the past.  During the last 2000 years, at the very beginning and very recently, Christians were either in a hostile society or in a secular church-state-separated one, so we are fairly close to living in eastern Mediterrean cities of the Roman Empire, with freedom, before Nero made Christianity a crime in the Empire.

I am kind of glad we got away from the Scarlet Letter and the Puritans, because at times since America was founded by English-speaking Europeans, we have done the same to people of other religions.

My gift to humanity would be that every human would instantly experience whatever feelings s/he caused in another. Equal joy, equal pain, if you killed you would also die, etc.  Truly instant karma, on-the-spot eye for an eye.

Think the world would be a better place?

Possibly, but would we then have any surgeons and dentists?

I reckon that if I were God I'd be running things just as they are.

God is a good parent - God allows us souls to grow and leave home (by entering a living body) and doesn't interfere. We know that God is there to return to as and when we want, but it means that we know we are being trusted to make our own way in the world, helping or being horrid as we choose.

I'm afraid that Guess Who's God would be like having a live-in malevolent mother-in-law.

And he allows me to exist, which is pretty peachy

Let's hope he allows my goals too ;]

Do they still make "Twighlight Zone?"

That show was canceled YEARS ago. But people still make remakes of the episodes >.< Nothing can ever replace the original Twighlight Zone show. I still watch reruns on scifi channel ^.^


WHAT I WOULD DO:

I'd leave everyone alone, except for those who really needed help. Like some innocent person in a middle of a gang war, or a little kid who has been kidnapped and taken hostage. And I might give world leaders a piece of karma

If I were god I would prove my existence... something our current god seems unable to do.

Nice idea, but I was thinking of it in practice - imagine if someone made someone else angry? The world would be a really miserable place for a while...
