NT's (Sometimes They are not so bad!)
as some of you know (from irc) i was recently at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp for ballet anyway while i was there i met this one counselor named fabian he is 19 years old and he has a deformed leg anyway he was an amazing counselor he got me hoocked up with staff there who knew what i go through and he has changed my life he lowered the rope into my hole while other people just helped me dig it
now here is the story
my mother and father are divorced and i have had a really bad childhood horrible i was suicidal, scared, alone, transgender, and an aspie (well duh).
anyway he helped me and the thing that shocks me is he is an NT it was the first connection i ever made with one....i swear he is my only family that knows me and understands me and for the first time i can ever say for an NT he is and always be my very Best Friend i know i know this is supposed to be a comment about how he is a good person an all that but i think we all should go find the person in our lives that truly make us happy then spend so much time worrying about our problems and making our holes deeper
it makes no sence at all does it. also when you meet that person dont lose him/her cause you may never get them back
if the mods think this should be deleted so be it
but at least someone knows what i think a friend is
and how NT's arent always bad sure they need to be more educated about everything but alot are willing to listen if we are willing to tell

Finding someone who is capable of giving you what you truly need is a wonderful gift. There's no healing quite like it. I'm happy for you.

Why would anyone delete this? It is a good story.
Occasional mini-rants aside. Yeah. NTs can be cool, when they are being themselves, and letting us be ourselves, too.

NT and Aspie are just labels used to describe the way the mind generally works, really there's no difference between you and him except that you have a piece of paper that says Asperger's and was signed by someone with a piece of paper that says he knows what he's talking about.
This is why I don't usually just assume NTs to be assholes since the differences between them and me aren't really that big when all things are considered.

I get along with most every NT I've ever met - when we're one on one. It's when there are more than one of them that I start to not be able to relate very well.
My best friend is NT with ADD and she and I love to talk about our differences as well as our similarities. Her discovering her ADD has helped her understand and accept herself as much as my discovering AS has helped me... and it's actually really healing to be friends with each other and to learn to compensate for our different approaches to the same situations. I've learned so much from her and she has from me. We didn't become good friends right away though, it took 12 years of learning to trust each other.
I'm right at least twice a day

Yeah, I know. When I went to middle school I felt so left out and alone. I had no friends, no where to sit with at lunch, and that was just when I found out about Asperger's too so I was really wondering where I fit in in the world. The person who saved me was NT. He was totally accepting of my "weirdness" and always knew exactly what to say, and he's a really fun person, too.
I think it's great that you found someone you can get along with that well, abscout.
