RE: Why do people hate us?

[I was raised a catholic and even became an altar boy for many years, but the more I learned about Christianity the more questions I had. When I finally gave up Christianity at the age of 17, the world made a lot more sense. That's probably the main reason why I'm not so fond of that religion.

I am sure I know what you mean - the things doen in the name of religion and all the other distarctions, but (says me with her head like an ostrich in the sand) what you "found" was man-made I am sure.  ;O) Regardless, it is good to know when a religion isn't working for you, then the seacrh can being again, or not.

In the past religion has been exploited by ruthless people for their own purposes; vanity and ambition have hidden themselves beneath a cloak of righteousness.

I agree -true spirituality is all you say.
But it is the power structures and systems within organisations (such as organised religion) that causes corruption.

Societies are set up with hierarchial systems - this hierarchy will be reflected in the organisations within the society. This creates a pecking order. Power tends to corrupt.

Because people fear the unknown, and we are the unknown, but if we stay committed to our inner strengths they will learn their fears were unfounded.

Hi and welcome to AFF! Smile

I'm not sure what happened - pressing reply button too much/too quickly.

Anyway, you've got us back on-topic!!!  And with a good one-liner, what's more! Cool

Well... normally you would type what you want to say in the box before hitting the reply button, and you really shouldn't reply with a quote of what you just said a few minutes ago.  Also, consecutive posts are considered impolite on most forums; though less so here since we're unable to edit our posts.

Oh, I totally agree Lucie…
Power tends to corrupt…
Often it’s not the ideas and ideals or an organisation that are a fault; nor the specific individuals within the structure. Its hierarchical structure itself that promotes inequality and unfairness; by placing one person above another--by saying this person is better than that person.

RE: Why do people hate us?

Agreed - maybe organisations need to become more horizontally structured in their philosophical approach.
