Troll warning - Some_Bloke - 02-26-2012 12:42 AM

Hello, as you are aware I have not posted in a long, long time and I have temporarily returned with a warning.

While on another forum site, to help another aspie i posted a link to the forum, however a massive troll on that site is planning an attack here. I will likely not be back after I have delivered this but I really had to give you guys a heads up.

So please, be on high alert for a troll or trolls depending if this troll gathers more than one to attack this forum

-Sincerely Some_Bloke.

Why don't you suggest the troll go to I^2.

A troll will not listen to anyone but themselves, unless they are coming up with insults

My theory about this troll and kinda trolls in general- "A troll trolls wherever they can and I have opened the door for them and could not close it as they had already stepped into my apartment. Due to this several other trolls will take that door unless I lock it."

d_olson is a moderator now? Christ I've been gone a while, so d if you're reading this for the love of god stop this troll...

Thanks for the warning.

So, where've you been anyway? People miss you here.

Aluminum sluggers are always in short supply, for some odd reason. Not as fun as 'rocksalt shot' in a shot gun. It's the bitter sharp sting that keeps on stinging. Wink

RE: Troll warning - Lestat - 02-27-2012 04:53 PM

If you want to give any intruders a real MEAN sting, and at the same time, reduce any damage to your house skyblue, load your shells up with magnesium or aluminium powder. Or nastier still...(red!...do it with white P and you will regret it) phosphorus shells. Make sure to have a layer of something inert, such as thin plastic between the red phosphorus powder and the propellant charge in the shell, as mixtures of red phosphorus and oxidizers are extremely friction and shock-sensitive explosives. And clean the barrel out after firing.

The result is a shell that belches out a dirty great cloud of blazing hot phosphorus...which burns in air to form phosphorus pentoxide, the anhydride of phosphoric acid. So one not only burns the bejesus out out of the target thermally, but the embedded P4O10 is REALLY going to hurt, nothing like a blazing white hot cloud of acid to scare the piss out of some thieving crackhead.

Don't combine the two (metal powders and phosphorus shells), as you don't want to produce metal phosphides en route to the wouldbe housebreaker, most metal phosphides, including magnesium or aluminium phosphide release phosphine gas either in contact with atmospheric moisture, or of course, burglar-juice. PH3 is nasty, nasty, nasty stuff, extremely toxic. Toxic enough to gas you with the result.

Or alternatively, load them up with tungsten dust. Extremely dense, but won't travel too far, and won't shoot through. The idea being to work on the same principle as DIME type munitions (dense inert metal explosive), as used in gaza by the yids, basically a mixture of an explosive and a dense, inert metal, unlike some explosive compositions where a reactive metal like aluminium/Mg is used in powder form to increase the yield with a HE, the idea behind DIME weapons is to create a short-ranged cloud of micro-sized shrapnel with very high lethality within the range of the cloud, which however, rapidly drops off due to the small size of the particles. Unlikely to have any use against body armor in a shotgun shell, but will completely ruin any exposed bodyparts hit, as there is no way to pick out shrapnel of that size. And due to the density of tungsten, combined with the limited penetration, all the kinetic energy available gets dumped into the target without shooting through, or the bits that miss, hopefully shouldn't penetrate far into the walls of one's home, or do too much damage to your own stuff.

Lol kapkao (I assume it was you that made the remark about baseball bats, I find the dotted lines of nested quotes hard to track visually when there are more than a few people quoted in a post)...I've read it said in several different places that very, very few baseball bats sold ever see a baseball)

Ah...so you are the troll? You don't really seem much. Stick around and don't behave. That will be boring, don't you think?

Better fun milking you for what you are worth. I don't think it is much. I read your little article and it was not well reasoned. You have as much insight in what you are trying to comment on as a primary schooler would be in lecturing on quantum physics.

I don't think that you are that wise, smart or much of a voice of reason. That is Ok. We all have our crosses to bear and you do this forum a great service in showing if they ever feel intellectually outmatched and embarassed, there are worse fates. It is being recognised by others as being cringeworthingly embarassing and being too ignorant and egotistical to notice.

You are kind of like Inspector Clouseau but without the result. You are gonna be fun to have around 'Hazel"

Then again Dead Frontier did nothing about trolls, that was their problem, practically everyone was a troll. That's why I left. Surveyant/Hazel isn't used to being banned, so he/she might just give up.

Oh, but that's when the fun starts.

See, if they're in the UK, returning to a forum you are banned from is a violation of the Computer Misuse Act, due to some clumsy wording.
If they're in the US, which they are as they are a Comcast user, well, have you read the ToS from Comcast?

First time is the ban. Second time we threaten to contact ISPs. Third time we follow through, and funnily enough they tend to stay away after a stonking letter from the company...

I have been wrong about past trolls such as Hazel. This new emerging troll I am certain is actually the troll from Dead Frontier, Surveyant...Is DanBett

Then again, I could be wrong, Surveyant may be a troll but she/he's pretty feckin' cleaver.

RE: Troll warning - marioluvsfries - 10-25-2012 09:23 PM

what confuses me is why would this Surveyant keep coming back ?

Is he/she that desperate to successfully troll this site once in all, as in he/she didn't want to be banned in vain, or is he/she failing to troll other forum sites that he/she thinks this site is an easy target ? :/

RE: Troll warning - Duckfetishgirl - 10-25-2012 09:28 PM

No, Hazel was not Surveyant. DanBent is.

I've been wrong before, about many things. So who the hell knows? The reason why I am saying why DanBent may be Surveyant is due to their styles of posting being almost the same, more so than the posting style of Surveyant and Hazel. Therefore I have concluded that they are not the same person. DanBent is a far more likely candidate to being the infamous Surveyant.

Out of curiousity here, can you the Mods block someone's computer if they are a troll from getting on the site again under a new name? What I mean is if a troll uses a certain computer with the internet often, can THAT IP address be cut off from accessing the site?

Yes.

We've actually got several entire countries nullrouted.

We're not using the myBB features to do this, we're doing it at a lower level - it's more efficient.

Generally speaking, though, if we get a ban evader we just go to their ISP. Since it's usually minors trolling, they stop pretty damn sharpish once they get a letter from their service providers and their parents start asking awkward questions.

But while you are on the subject, and if you don't mind my asking, why is it that you engage with them even after you know/suspect what they are? It is what they are after after all. So why give them what they seek?

Generally, we give people the benefit of the doubt.

I don't like summary bans. Sometimes people just get off on the wrong foot. Other times, like our recently booted friend, it's obvious that, even if they're not a troll, they're a dick and we don't want them here.

China blocked us, though.  Eleven in total, if you count them.

RE: Troll warning - Genesis - 11-22-2012 05:59 PM

Dear, dear China.... Why so serious China?

RE: Troll warning - sg1008 - 11-22-2012 09:04 PM

If China blocked AFF, how is Ninman accessing us?

..Via proxy, I would assume. We're blocked by the Great Firewall.

RE: Troll warning - Bloke - 03-07-2013 12:17 PM

He did last very long on I2, which is a shame, he hated being called Cupcake

RE: Troll warning - Genesis - 03-07-2013 01:58 PM

Thats because he claimed himself to be sociopath Bloke.... and last time I checked, sociopaths don't like Cupcakes.

RE: Troll warning - Bloke - 03-08-2013 01:42 PM

I know I will be in the minority again but I kinda liked him. Actually I kinda liked DTX too.
Yes they were both asshats more than just occasionally, but quite often their contrary natures just happened to latch onto something really insightful. They also were not ever following the herd and so quite often inadvertently onto a winner Smile

DTX was banned just before I joined, but I'll agree on Kapkao. He needed to be kept on a leash from time to time, but he was enjoyable to have around.

RE: Troll warning - Bloke - 03-08-2013 04:35 PM

In my time I fought hard with both of them on occasion and also agreed and backed them both on occasion.
Now, not wanting to sound like a complete hypocrite i will let you know why they perhaps were not good fits here but I really like them.

I have always been atypical. I am as much an atypical aspie as I am atypical to NT's.

When this place went to *** years ago and there was the exodus of 80 or so members here (the time that I was banned), one of the charges laid on me - mainly but not exclusively by butthurt troublemakers and trolls that I made feel unwelcome here - was that I was a flamer and a troll.

I had been a member of I2 and found that OK BUT I had a great bit of good fortune and I saw an ad advertising a place for "trolls, asshats, flamers, and douchebags". Literally! I touted that if you were a reject with nowhere else to go, join there "theybannedme.com". I joined. It was an absolute cesspool. Full of the worst rejects of the online community. I fitted in. I flamed hell out of people and they me and somehow I rose the the more active and involved clique if you like.

Then one day we were raided as we had been many times but this time by a gang larger, more organised and more sophisticated than any other gang and most of the stalwarts from TBM backed off in awe. I went on the attack. They loved it. I became friends and then became good friends with the new gang. they were great trolls...I mean GREAT trolls. I knew nothing about trolling. I knew flaming and better than any of them. They needed someone who could flame because in order to troll effectively, they needed what amounted to someone who could give and take slings and arrows whilst they were working long term angles against people.

Eventually I was taken into the fold and became a 1% of the troll gang and given mod status on their secret website at teh same time as I got mod status on TBM.

TBM eventually was closed down due to a hacker and PI peddling POS. Most left to other websites like rejecthaven. bastardfactory, troll kingdom. trollvallhalla. I kind of over the course of a year or so and after an illness, lost contact with the guys on the troll site. The did track me down and were genuinely concerned how I was. I caught up with them a bit but really did not have much motivation to get on with things.

I think my anger and frustration well and truly vented and things had moved on.

When I came back here I really was still in two minds as to whether to troll due to the *** treatment I had received here in the past or whether for sentimental reasons to be a contributor. I did both.

There were three people that swayed me to the side of getting on with things. Primarily Skyblue. Secondly Nu and thirdly Cynara. Yes there were others like DTX and Aerodynamite. But they were the main ones.

Given the chance I took stock and remembered not so much what this site did to me an d80 good members but what it did to a 35 year old man looking for answers when I first joined, so I decided to, in my own way, put a little back if i could.

So when I look at people that are a bit contrary or a bit aggressive or in your face it is not with disgust or fear or loathing. I see attributes of long missed friends. I see challenges and sometimes interesting battles. I see sometimes interesting perspectives. I see atypical aspies like myself looking for their chance to express themselves.

Just thought I would share

I think it was a little of everyone. ῦ and I both were having to yank on his leash quite a bit, and I don't think he appreciated that. The first place he went after he was unregistered from here was I^2, which tells me he wanted to get away from moderation. I hear that didn't turn out so well for him, though.

RE: Troll warning - 142857 - 03-09-2013 12:13 PM

I found Kappers to be a very, very intelligent guy whose views were mostly the opposite of mine. Speaking for myself, I find someone like that a hell of a lot of fun to converse with.

The way I remember it... he had an ongoing issue with the inanity of some posts, and a major clash with Nu at the end. He was one of my favourite members, I was sad to see him go - I think it was silly tho to leave the way he did and for the reasons he did. How hard is it to skim a few posts that aren't quite as intellectual as you'd like.

RE: Troll warning - Genesis - 03-10-2013 09:51 AM

Like I said I am guilty as charged.

RE: Troll warning - Bloke - 03-10-2013 11:37 AM

I don't think you were responsible in either case Gen, nor should feel guilty

No, don't be silly. You can't please all the people all of the time. I like the updates on your budgies and the leprechauns under your bed. Kappers was just being silly, as I said. You are well loved on AFF and we'd miss you a lot more than we miss Kappers.

But he was banned and the thread was deleted before I could have any fun
