Bambi!  I was about 3, and cried buckets (who didn't?) when Bambi's mum died.

    Bambi's mum dies

I also remember seeing Winnie the Pooh at the movies and wishing I had a friend like Tigger ... he's my type of guy ...

     Tigger

I saw Bambi in the theater when I was about 4, I went with a group of neighborhood kids, I was the youngest in the group. I remember not understanding it very well, and not being able to fit in with the others.

yeah, but it's worrying; we've had an upsurge in them again, though it's mostly subtle. I think I'm going to close registrations again over the weekend.

STD = Standard Trunk Dialling?  (Well, that's what it used to mean in the UK, but I suspect it means something else here Big Grin.)

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - danielphillips - 10-25-2009 09:34 AM

I don't know exactly but I remember seeing "Spirited Away" in the cinema when I was very young.

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - Aeolienne - 10-25-2009 12:22 PM

In 1981, aged 6 - either the Popeye live-action movie or a re-release of Snow White.

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - andrewmckeown - 10-25-2009 01:28 PM

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - Some_Bloke - 06-13-2011 11:02 PM

Toy story, i can't remember how young i was.
Wait, if it came out in 1999 and i was born in 1996, then i would have been around 4 years old.

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - OtaBenga - 06-13-2011 11:58 PM

The Lion King in '94.

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - 142857 - 06-14-2011 12:23 AM

Swiss Family Robinson. I would have been about 5 or 6. I was very disappointed because I thought it was going to be about the family from "Lost In Space".

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - Duckfetishgirl - 06-14-2011 12:42 AM

I believ it was Gremlins at the drive in theater that no longer exists.

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - Duckfetishgirl - 06-14-2011 12:48 AM

Actually it was Return of the Jedi in 1983.

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - Genesis - 06-14-2011 01:17 AM

I honestly don't know....

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - windy - 06-14-2011 01:19 AM

The first movie I ever remember seeing - in the theater - was the first (Star Wars) it was like 1977... (I was a kid).

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - Shrek - 06-14-2011 05:55 AM

I first remember seeing Man and Boy in the cinema I think it starred Bill Cosby. It was a class field trip in elementary or middle school.

That aside, what Mom said we went to see, I forgot. I next remember Porky's II in 1987.

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - Genesis - 06-14-2011 06:22 AM

Does it have to be in Cinema? Because one of the very few things I remember was either "The Secret of Nimh" or maybe it was a Disney Movie (before they turned into crap).....

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - Shrek - 06-14-2011 06:35 AM

I think I vaguely remember Earthquake (1974) a long time ago...... before I saw it again and again, it must have been TV

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - Vampslord - 06-14-2011 07:02 AM

First movie was E.T. in a drive-in.
In a cinema, it was Albator.

Or possibly even a re-release of Mon Oncle - can't remember if it was subtitled or not.

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - The Endless Walker - 05-03-2013 12:14 AM

I'm ashamed to say it but...
Barney the dinosaur: The movie... What a great introduction to the world of cinema...

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - Captain Jigglypuff - 05-03-2013 12:35 AM

Big Top Pee Wee when I was two. Don't remember anything but the end credits.

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - League Girl - 05-03-2013 08:39 AM

The first one I remember seeing in theaters was when I was five and it was White Fane. I hated it. It was boring and I had to sit through until it ended.

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - 142857 - 05-03-2013 10:16 AM

Swiss Family Robinson. I was intensely disappointed because I thought it was going to be a Lost In Space movie called the "Smith Family Robinson".

I went to see that movie and I actually became so bored with it that I fell asleep in the theater. My sister had to wake me up TWICE and she wasn't pleased about that.

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - Luke Mauser - 05-03-2013 02:49 PM

Either Snow White or The Aristocats. The teenage girls next door took my brother and me to early-80s re-releases (for the benefit of the under-30s, this actually used to happen in the days before video!)

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - Oxytoxin - 05-04-2013 12:30 AM

I don't remember. It must have been some kids' show.

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - sg1008 - 05-04-2013 12:42 AM

I am not sure...I think the Lion King. It was definitely one of the firsts. I remember I went to the little esquire, because the seating was sort of old fashioned (not stadium style; heads were blocking the view). My grandma was there.

RE: What Was the FIRST Cinema Movie You watched? - Shnoing - 05-04-2013 04:15 PM

The Aristocats. Must have been 1980, so, a re-release according to IMDb.
