I'm a self-diagnosed aspie, unable to get a diagnosis currently because my parents refuse to even consider the possibility that I have it.
I'm a prolific writer, and in addition to being two chapters away from completion of my first novel, I am writing a Wikiversity course on the Neurodiversity movement, have been published three times, and wrote a nine page long explaination of why I self-diagnosed as AS (sadly, my parents didn't even read it, but my school counselor was impressed).
I almost never completely outgrow an interest, which is why my list of interests is so long, but I no longer consider them "Special Interests" after the initial burning excitement of obsession fades away. I very very recently became interested in Wikiversity, a Wikimedia project, so currently that is my only burning interest (although about once a week I will have a sudden urge to write about autism, so that's still on my list of interests as well, and that's why I come to AFF).
I'm continually frustrated by the lack of participation in the Neurodiversity movement that I see from a lot of other users here, but I don't get mad at people and I don't judge them for it.
It's my personal policy not to engage in personal attacks and flame wars; I have had only one such episode in the past and will never repeat it.

Right now I'm not visiting or posting much; I'm reallly stressed out lately and just looking at some of the threads here upsets me, so I'm selectively picking and choosing what I respond to on the basis of importance and my current emotional stability. Don't be offended if I don't respond to something you say to me, it's proabably because I had a bad day. |
