Statement on donations - please read
First, thankyou for your support.
Your donations will help to keep AFF going in order to provide an alternative to the current "autism epidemic" horror stories in the media and to help truly represent and serve the autistic community. Financial statements will be available on the website soon and should be automatically updated after each donation. At time of writing this has not yet been implemented but is being worked on. Logs of all transactions are kept on paypal's site and will be used to manually generate statements until a full automatic system can be setup. Please note that for ethical reasons anyone who makes a donation and is later found to have gone through a financial hardship to do so may have their donation refunded. Please do not donate if you cannot afford to do so and allow others to give generously.
Due to the requirement to ensure all of AFF's activity is accountable for, we automatically keep track of all donations in a database and manually enter outbound payments for expenses or details of donations which cannot be automatically tracked (bank wire transfers etc) into the same database. You may choose before the details are entered into this database to remain anonymous or to give your username on this site. Your donation will be applied to any outstanding unpaid invoice or invoices yet to be received for services required in the hosting of this website and attached services. Any excess after such services have been paid for may only be applied to the following:
- Grants to offline groups for the purposes of hiring a venue, catering and transport expenses within reason
- Future technical upgrades to this website and attached services, the helpline and any other technical services setup for public use by the autistic community or expenses (not including voluntary labour) incurred in repairs to such services
- Reasonable expenses incurred during offline action including but not limited to the production of posters and other literature for use during protests, educational materials produced and distributed to the general public and private individuals for the purposes of educating them about autism in general and autism rights and/or AFF's goals
- Legal work required in the formation of a formal charity registered with the charity commission of the United Kingdom (Currently this is not planned in the near term)
- Funding of real estate purchasing and construction costs related to construction of an island or large retreat or village for the autistic community ("The autfinity project")
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL THE OWNERS, MEMBERS, CO-FOUNDERS OR OTHER DIRECTLY INVOLVED INDIVIDUALS GAIN A PERSONAL PROFIT VIA DONATIONS GATHERED UNLESS THERE IS A SUBSTANTIAL NEED FOR CONTRACT SERVICES FROM A MEMBER WHICH CANNOT BE PROVIDED FROM OUTSIDE AND THE DECISION TO ENTER INTO SUCH CONTRACT IS MADE WITHOUT INVOLVEMENT OF THE MEMBER BEING PAID OR ANYONE WITH SUBSTANTIAL PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP TO THEM WHICH MAY CAUSE CONFLICT OF INTEREST
CO-FOUNDERS AND OWNERS OF ASPIES FOR FREEDOM SHALL NOT BE ENTITLED TO ANY PERSONAL PROFIT FROM DONATIONS. IN THE UNLIKELY EVENT THAT THE ACCOUNT MUST BE CLOSED DUE TO CEASING OF OPERATIONS ANY AND ALL FUNDS IN THE ACCOUNT SHALL BE DONATED TO AN ORGANISATION OR GROUP DEEMED TO BE IN LINE WITH THE GOALS OF THE AUTISM RIGHTS MOVEMENT OR ELSE ANY CHARITY OR NON-PROFIT GROUP GIVEN A MAJORITY VOTE AT A MEETING OF MEMBERS
To make a donation via paypal, please click the button below (note that there can be a small delay while it loads sometimes).. Other options for donation will become available soon. Due to paypal's PDN (Payment Data Notification) system which we use for tracking donations, the below button is fixed at £5, to make a larger or smaller donation please feel free to do so manually via email to paypal@aspiesforfreedom.com but note that your donation will not be noted straight away in the automated tracking system.
