My mum stopped caring when he said a Doctor's wait in Canada is only 3 weeks. I used to like his movies and would consider myself a fan until recently because of Sicko. He really twists the facts or picks and chooses what he uses. Since my parents are both in the medical field and since my mum and some of her family have been very sick and gone through it, she's offended by statement's he's made for Sicko.
I'm no fan of the system in its current state, but Moore really does stretch his material in the scene where he takes a group of vets down to Cuba to hug a group of firemen, and then goes to a local hospital to treat his unlikely crew. He asks questions all the while of the locals about health care issues. How could they possibly tell the truth on camera without risking their own positions, if not more?
What made the scene more surreal is that residents of the district where I attended the movie all uniformly clapped, with some standing for the ovation.
