Is Luna Lovegood an aspie?
I don't know, but my mother insists that Luna reminds her of what I was like in my preteens and early teens.
Disturbing thought here - what dx would you give Snape, if any?
I would think that Snape is only in the Product of Abuse catagory.
Not sure about that. He was from the sound of it more interested in potions than in people, and clearly people saw him as different. (The bullying because he just existed sure sounds familiar.)

Could be. The portrayal in the movie makes it seem more so. When I read the book I just thought of her as charmingly eccentric, but the movie interpretation of her character was excellent, and made me wonder the same thing.
I loved her voice and that slight smile. The way she delivered her lines was perfect.

Snape's actually one of my favourite characters, in a perverse sort of way - I suppose.
Isn't Luna Lovegood supposed to be Rita Skeeter's (the gossip writer's) niece, or something?

I think Luna Lovegood is an aspie. If the autism rate in the wizarding population is the same as in the muggle population, then there must be at least a few aspie and autie students at Hogwarts.
I wonder also about Ernie MacMillan, who is always described as being overly pompous.
In the books Luna's father owns "The Quibbler", the magical world's gossip magazine.
Oh yeah. It's been a while since I read any Harry Potter books, so that's proabably it.
