Raw beef is lighter flavored than cooked... very light flavored probably why I liked it
if it's the '"I don't even know why I'm cooking anymore" you fear, you might try to help her out with that.

But still, your mom might be at a loss what to cook the next day.
Help her out, if she wants to ofcourse.
Tell her your 18 now and want to learn to cook yourself.
You'll learn to make dishes you like. And your mom might appreciate it a lot when you make the effort to cook family dinner.
Maybe your mom hates the idea. But she might love it aswell.
