AUTSCAPE 2005, Request for Proposals
Event date: Tues to Fri, July 26-29, 2005
Location: near Radstock, Somerset (near Bath), UK
Submission deadline: March 31, 2005
Autscape is a conference organised and run by and for autistic people to
be held for the first time this summer. The first event will be held in
a peaceful rural retreat centre surrounded by extensive and picturesque
grounds. We are now accepting proposals for seminars & workshops to be
presented at Autscape 2005. This year’s theme will be “Creating Autistic
Space”.
This event is primarily for, not about, autistic people. Workshops
geared towards parents and professionals may be accepted, but must be
positive in their support for autistic people and their right to be
different. In general, we would like ideas for positive ways of living
with autism and navigating an alien world. There is no past Autscape to
refer to, but we are likely to enjoy similar workshops to those that
have been presented at Autreat, the American event that inspired Autscape.

We aim to both stimulate your interest and challenge your skills. We
hope to change lives by empowering autistic people to live their own
lives more effectively. If this interests you, please see our website:
http://www.autscape.org/ for more information.
If you don’t want to do a presentation yourself, but have ideas for what
you’d like to see, or if you have any questions, please e-mail the
Autscape Committee at: autscape@paradox.freeserve.co.uk
