One of my favourite writers Nick Hornby has a severly autistic LFA son, he writes a lot about bringing him up in the autobiographical book "31 songs". has anyone else read it? I found it really intresting account of bringing up a LFA child and very positive. From what Nick Hornby writes in the book about himself and his obsessions collecting records etc I would say he probably has some traits of AS. He also says that lots of people ask him whether the boy in "About a Boy" is based on his son, but he says he is not as his son is a lot more severe and non-verbal.
