One of my favourite writers Nick Hornby has a severly autistic LFA son, he writes a lot about bringing him up in the autobiographical book "31 songs". has anyone else read it?   I found it really intresting account of bringing up a LFA child and very positive.  From what Nick Hornby writes in the book about  himself and his obsessions collecting records etc I would say he probably has some traits of AS. He also says that lots of people ask him whether the boy in "About a Boy" is based on his son, but he says he is not as his son is a lot more severe and non-verbal.
"High Fidelity" is based on one of his books and two of the characters (the lead character and one who works in his business) appear to be AS.  It's an interesting movie.
I sometimes wondered about the central character in "Fever Pitch", too.
