I seem to laugh or giggle at everything nowadays. I have no idea why. I think it's often a nervous laugh, or I'll find something I think is funny but I think others would not get (for examples: I may find a situation or something someone says as ironic). I wonder if my counselor doesn't believe I have depression now, since whenever I talk to her I tend to accent almost everything I say with a laugh. It's like, "Yeah. I know. Heh, heh, heh. I just can't believe it. Heeheehee." etc.
I have a loud/deep type voice and my laugh is a bunch of short bursts, sometimes just one, though I also have a falsetto version that makes me sound like a complete lunatic.  I don't laugh too often; only when I think somethings funny.

Also, eldest of four.
Madly... randomly...at weird things... today i thought it was hilarious when i called the wrong number... i often get told of or looked at funny for laughing and not telling anyone why... my laughs sound different a lot...  i am an elkder sibling... i was instructed how to laugh many times... it never made a difference.

Anyway we have this one woman called Helen who phones in all the time and always says "hello there mrs police officer layyydeeeeee" and wants to talk about her paranoia/hallucinations etc. Most of the time she's in a good mood but other times she's really depressed. Anyway. She phoned in one night and got one of my mates at work, because people were stealing her gnomes. Conversation (which still cracks me up typing it) goes like this:

Helen: "they've been stealing my gnomes!!!!! They're heirloom gnomes, my mum gave me them and they've got authentic German paint on them. Do you know what I mean?"
Op: "yes Helen, they're very nice."
H: "You don't know what I mean - you're lying"
O: "Well no Helen, I don't have gnomes."
H: "Neither do I because they stole them!!!!!!!!!"

I don't know why but the conversation had me in hysterics for about 10 minutes and still makes me laugh.

Um, I would be very mad if someone stole my gnome, and he is very new.  He lives in the backyard and has a sign that has the family name on it.

When my husband laughs, it is a "normal" laugh, unless he really gets going.  Then it is an uncontrollable fit in which he will fall out of chairs, fall backwards in chairs, scream with laughter, stop breathing, and then, yes, about 10 minutes will do it again, as it is still funny.  People stop and stare, and wonder...

I am the older brother in my family.  Although I have no recollection of telling my brother how to laugh, the general practice of one sibling commanding the other in any particular activity does seem entirely likely at some point in time, aspie or not.

I'm the older sibling as well (although not a brother), and though the above is true, I don't think laughing is something siblings tend to teach each other... but then and again, I could be wrong. Iirc my (little) brother laughs more normally than I do though...

My oldest son is an aspie - he gets out of hand with laughter sometimes - apparently there is alot to laugh about...
so my middle son DOES tell his older brother to tone it down - sometimes - I think for the oldest ones own good - like oldest son laughs a few beats longe than others - sometimes.
Funny thing is - the youngest sibling - a girl - has leanred to laugh alot like her oldest brother - but for her it is fake - so again not only does middle son point hat out to her - but oldest aspie brother tells his sister stop it, that sounds fake...

When I'm really amused unexpectedly its kinda high pitched. My mom compares it to mozart in amedeus.
