I know Jim Varney is dead but I just love Ernest movies & I thought of continuing the Ernest saga but instead of making a movie with a crap actor with no respect for Jim I thought of continuing Ernest's adventures through books. The first Ernest adventure is DRUMROLL PLEASE......

"Ernest Goes To Heaven"
In the book Ernest has a job as a gardener at "The Baskin Graveyard"
while trying to make a living Ernest can't help but notice what he thinks is the spirit opf a teenage girl. While chasing teh ghost with his ghost hunting gear he falls into the town catacombs where he suddenly dies. He floats up to Heaven where he meets God & the ghost girl named, Lexie. They planned Ernest to die so that he could help them fight off Satan who plans to blow up Heaven.
Will Ernest save Heaven & get back to earth mortal again?

You can find out! If you guys want I can post the rest & if people really liked this I'll post my other Ernest stories.

My other Ernests are:
Ernest the Prince
Ernest Saves the World
Ernest In the West

I'm sorry Genghis - but I don't know anything about Jim Varney or Ernest.  I can image everyone gasping and saying 'she doesn't know who Ernest is?' - has the girl been on the moon?  Maybe if you post your story I will find out why I should have heard of him, and may go and look for the movie?  :-)
Oh gee that's too bad. I'm not good at explaining stuff but maybe someone else on the site can explain who Ernest is & then I'll post the story.

If I read your story then I'll get a feel for Ernest.  Spoilsport!  Tease!  :-P
How many of the Ernest movies were in the theaters? I haven't seen most of them since I was a kid, but I watched Ernest Goes to School last week because Will Sasso plays one of the bullies. Ernest Scared Stupid was one of my favorite films in the series when I was young.
I used to watch Ernest movies over and over as a kid. I don't remember them as well now but I liked the Halloween one.
I don't know much about Ernest either, but you might want to look into some of the classics on this kind of thing. I recommend looking into the poems such as Milton's "Paradies Lost" and Dante's "The Divine Comedy", because you could easily parody them in this kind of format.
