Lovely photos CSI-Fan3. I like that they are all little snippets of nature, like the small frames of pictures that you notice in everyday life.
Photography is my hobby too.

If you like that, there are more at http://www.flickr.com/photos/whitbywoof/
Somehow I missed this thread. Wonderful photos, from everyone. A question for you gifted photographers: do your pictures turn out the way you think they will?  When you snap the picture, do you already know how it will look or is it something of a surprise?
Thank you.

Thank you very much! Er... well, mostly I know roughly how the picture will turn out, because I've got a digital camera and I can see it already, but then on the computer I quite often find out the picture isn't in focus...

Whitbywoof, I love your photos! They're great!

Even with a digital camera, my pictures pretty much suck. I think they are good when I'm taking them, but ... surprise!!  So I just wondered.

Tonic, I really like the picture. It's just like someone drew it, but somehow at the same time it isn't... Really beautiful.
whitbywoof, I love that picture. I really like the way the light reflects in those chess pieces (is that the right word?).
I mostly have a problem with holding the camera still, and then my photos turn out blurry. The annoying thing is, I can't change the exposure times myself, I can only use the ones that are on it when you buy it. I looked trough the entire manual, and it's just not possible to do that yourself... But that aside it's a good camera.
I must say again that I am impressed over the pictures in this thread!
I think it is easier to photograph than paint, because a pic is done in seconds but a paint takes several hours, though the motive is the same, and a picture tells the truth differently than a painting.
Dont get me wrong,i love to paint, but I think it must have been different before the camera was evented.

You're right. I never looked at it that way, but you're right.

I hope I'll be able to post new photos soon, but our computer is a little off....
Wow, that seems pretty cool, I've never been to one though, but I'd like to go.
So, here are finally some new photos I made quite long time ago:

I don't know why, but I liked the clouds...

I love those drops of dew on the leafs, just had to take a picture

Another one of those... I just love them, can't help it Smile Although I just noticed it's a little blurry...
Er... I think it's a blue passion flower (Passiflora caerulea), I looked it up and that's the one that's most like the one in our garden
Some new photographs:

I made this one last summer

I recently made this one

I made this one out of the attic window

A really nice effect thanks to a very annoying little brother... Smile
