That's very interesting, but I think any of us who read that must know that he's intentionally trying to piss us all off so much that we write him hateful comments, because he probably feeds off that. Basically he's just being a very mean bully. That's all he is. Someone who thinks so low of himself that he needs to vent on others, who by the way, help others. I would suggest reporting him to the "internet police" first and then going to a lawyer if that doesn't shut him down.
Timelord I read that blog and all the comments and you should have copied the whole blog. He insults you as well.
Here's my stance, he can assist his child to make the child's life better, he can quite frankly, do whatever he wants to until he gets caught. But to rant on and just spew pure hate about Autism and insult people like Amanda Baggs, yourself, and others, is just un-adult like and stupid. After all he's said, he probably could be tried in court. You on the other hand, have got to stop responding to this guy. Its not stalking like he said (that in itself is ridiculous) but he wants to get a reaction out of you and the members here, so just don't give in. He's one upping himself everytime with more hateful remarks. Ignore them. For all you know he's actually a 24 year old psychotic schizophrenic who lives in an apartment and doesn't have kids. Don't argue with a crazy.
Why not just go to his service provider? Usually behavior like that is against the TOS.
"It's ability to abuse the first amendment boggles the mind!!"

If the First Amendment didn't protect the obnoxious ***-talking of an *** like this, it would not protect the rest of us, either. Free Speech is not reserved for rational, pleasant, thoughtful speech. No lawyer would take the case because there is no case.

I just looked at the site you're talking about, and I have to wonder -- Timelord, why do you go there?
Approach this guy through the internet service if you have to....what he's doing could be interpreted as harassment or slander.

Folks on this forum: DO NOT WRITE TO THIS GUY. Seriously.  Aside from the fact that it qualifies as feeding the trolls, it would only give him more material to potentially use against this site.

Let's just ignore him, huh?   Smile
Timelord, please note my signature.

I know it's hard to resist engaging with psychos and idiots -- god knows I've done it a few times -- but in this case it's really pointless. The guy's site is so over-the-top crazy that it actually makes the case that the Mercury-Poisoning crowd is insane. If you frequent his site -- and involve this site with him -- it makes us all look crazy by association.

Leave him alone. Anyone reading his blog can see he's a lunatic.

I just wanted to agree wholeheartedly with Max the Bear.  As a librarian, I am vocationally sworn to protect free speech, even if I can't stand it myself.  The exceptions are for slander, libel, public safety, etc.  I can't say I'm comfortable letting idiots rant, and possibly convert others to their idiocy, but as long as I value my own freedom of speech, I must value others, even if I don't value what they say.  What's that famous quote?  Something about vilely disagreeing with something, but defending to the death their right to say it?

At the same time, Timelord, I'd probably feel the same as you if I read the blog, but I haven't, and for damn sure am not going to read it now!

Yeah, that's always the danger and the very tempting reason to argue with them. But believe me, this guy's blog is so insane he is his own worst advertisement.

He's like the notorious Reverend Fred Phelps who shows up at gay funerals with all his "Death to Fags" and "Fags Burn in Hell" signs -- he only serves to make the anti-gay fundies look like monsters and psychopaths.

Okay -- the quote was driving me crazy Tongue I think I found it:

"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
Voltaire, (Attributed); originated in "The Friends of Voltaire", 1906, by S. G. Tallentyre (Evelyn Beatrice Hall)
        French author, humanist, rationalist, & satirist (1694 - 1778)
My encounters with the Rev Phelps have been more "up close and personal" than that. The first time I angrily argued with him. The second time, a couple of years later, I used a very different tactic. I made him the object of ridicule and got everybody laughing at him.
I haven't been able to come back here for a few days because this site has been down, but I'll just address a few comments.

I've already spoken to Verizon. They weren't interested because of - you guessed it - the first amendment. Google (who host the blog) won't act without a court order.

Because the man is extremely dangerous and the more people know about him the better. I'm working on a massive section on website about him, and that neccesitates going back there.

Bad idea. That's how dangerous he is to all of us. Ignoring him now is potentially the same is Germany ignoring Hitler in the 1920's. I'm serious. He has announced his candadacy for the presidency don't forget!

Exactly - and Best is guilty of all three, plus vilification on the basis of disability.

To the poster who advised that I've been abused - I knew that already. The sooner I get the new section of my Wiki on him up and running the better.

Timelord, he's a lunatic and no one even knows he exists. It's obvious that only two kinds of people go to his site: a handful of crazies who agree with him, and  a few others who go just to laugh at him. Not one person in a million has ever heard of him. He has no influence. There are thousands of crazy people on the WWW. He's a very minor one.

Thanks very much for that citation!  Do you know anything about the context in which it was said?  (Sorry my humanities education is sorely lacking.)  Just curious.

He's nominated for the presidency, Max. You are severely underestimating him. Severely. The fact that people (and many people at that over the time I've known about the blog) post on there means that he IS known. And too well for my liking.

Timelord, he is not nominated for the presidency. We have a two-party system and the presidential candidates will not be chosen by those parties -- a year from now. Any idiot can say "I'm running for president." -- but that's just free speech.  You are looking at this freak through the magnifying glass of your own obsession and it makes him appear a million times larger than he is.

Google his name with the word "president"... see what you find.

Timelord Wrote:

Just because Best isn't a member of either the Republicans or the Democrats doesn't mean he can't run for the office of President!
Have you even looked at his blog? Did you try the link I put further up?

Anyone can declare their candidacy. The most successful "third party" candidate of the last 100 years was, indeed, Ross Perot -- a billionaire who spent millions of dollars on his campaign, got enormous media coverage, tons of advertising-- and won exactly zero electoral votes.

Yes, I checked his blog. He is just a fool with a blog, just like a million other fools. I googled his name and the word s president and presidency. The only mention of his big, dangerous, serious campaign is on his own ridiculous blog.

Mr. Best must love you, Timelord. You're the only person besides himself who takes his campaign seriously.
