I still don't know where I am supposed to look when people speak to me but I don't know where I look I never remember. I keep thinking that if I can figure this out people would stop asking me if I understand what they tell me.

I wear reading glasses at work.  If I have to glance up at someone talking to me, I can't see anything but a blur. That was an unexpected benefit. Big Grin

Yes, I have found this too, it is very useful.

Try standing slightly to the side of them and feel free to look down or slightly to side instead of at them, shake your head as to acknowledge that you are listening to their words.

I did that last time my boss was yelling at me I think I just confused him.

yes, eye contact is a problem, even with wife and family,  cannot hold a stare, maybe staring is not appropriate, some cultures discourage direct eye contact , something to do with the 'evil eye'.  some cultures demand it, is there a point on the face, say the nose that would work, or can the NT even detect that. or can an Aspie do it.  I think they teach it when training aspies kids, but can an old dog like me learn new tricks?
u jus copy wot they do, mor time
