do you think Can will ever achive its goal. i mean the goal of curing autism. i really dont think they every will i mean the only way a cure  would be possible is probaly by some kind of brain surgery. however i think we should all keep protestng just in case i am wrong.
Oddly this is one thing that was hypothesized in a movie back in 1999 called "Molly", whereas a man's autistic sister under goes a brain surgery to try out a new procedure that would help cure the autism.

More can be read about it here -> http://www.disabilityfilms.co.uk/autism1/molly1999.htm

I don't personally see how they'll ever cure all their potential causes of autism that they figure there is. Too bad things like this are more of a money grab.
I think the realistic prospects are pre-natal testing and some kind of medication. A medication that tries to take away one or more of the key elements of autism, such as reducing obsessions/special interests. I would be highly dubious about that type of thing and would suspect profit interest behind the motivation to prescribe it.
I think that these two prospects will happen within five years, there are millions being spent on research and pressure to produce something to justify it.
I hated that movie, Molly.  :-(
Surgery woudl be most unlikely to cure autism.  Autists may have deficiencies in connections between hemispheres, particularly the corpus callosum has been implicated, but an anomaly there would not be the sort fo thing you woul treat with surgery...  Maybe a local application of NGF-1 or something like that might be tried in the future, but that is an expensive way to treat something like an ASD.  Prenatal screening/abortion is much more likely, but even that is a ways off.
prenatal screening/ gene therapy is possible. and maybe if all co-morbid conditions were treated instead, we'd have more auties becoming aspies.
