I'm not a Democrat, but I disagree with the Democratic candidates less than I do with the Republican candidates, so I'm most likely going to vote for the former.
I will, once again, throw my vote away on the person whose principles I most believe in.

While it is true that Republicans are a bit more dangerous than Democrats, both are fueled by corporate dollars and will act accordingly.  They are closer to each other than they are comfortable appearing.

Until more of us vote from our convictions rather than our (false) fears, both parties will get away with doing business as usual and nothing will change.

I want them to look at the column marked "other" every four years, and as it grows, begin to wonder what they can do to get MY vote in their column instead of trying to pry the vote of some inbred Republican into said column.
I plan on voting for whoever the Democrat candidate is......with the House and Senate both a (slim) majority-Democrat, having a Democrat president as well might be a major step toward getting the US out of this war.

(At this point, yes, I'm a single-issue voter)

I wouldn't ever commit myself to being a member of either party, because my political beliefs are all over the map (very liberal in some areas and very conservative in others).
Go Mitt Romney!!
I think the Romney comment was intended to be in jest, considering there are no votes in the Republican column and all the recent comedic attacks against him in the media.

HELL NO!  It was bad enough having him as the governor of this state, I don't want to imagine what he'd do as president.

Political discussions are forbidden in every other chat I go to because they always end up in heated brawls.  Personally, I have no interest in politics. But I'm watching this thread with interest to see what happens when Aspies get in a political discussion.
I'm missing something here....who the ^*&^ is John Best Junior???
Democratic candidate if it's anyone other than Hillary Clinton (my first choice is John Edwards, but I would vote for any Dem but HRC in the general).  If the Democratic nominee is HRC, I'll vote for the Green Party or perhaps the Libertarian candidate.
I don't have, today, my parents' Christian skepticism (mom) or hostility (dad).
But I did inherit (socialization) their politics.

Democrats.

The idea that certain priorities count (poor people) more than others (more money for a rich guy's car).

Mom liked Jimmy Carter as President.  So do I.
Yeah, definitely ANYONE EXCEPT A REPUBLICAN.

I do agree with the post that the two parties are not that different.  The argument is that, that small difference, when magnified by the power of a national victory, can do real good.

I also tend to believe that Aspies, by nature FAIR, tend toward DEMOCRACY, and that good ole likely Aspies Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin just barely pulled off the miracle of creating this democracy in 1776.  And the Republicrats have been working hard ever since to return to the monarchy.  The current administration has gotten closer than any in my lifetime.

I tried to think of someone I could vote for, and Al Gore was the only name I could come up with.  I think he has a chance, and the later he enters the race, the better.  Thanks for your work in this regard, Max.

I LOVE FDR AND THE NEW DEAL.  THAT'S WHAT I'D VOTE FOR!!
Hello,

Though I have not done much political research, if I could vote, I would most likely vote for Barack Obama. Hillary Clinton is to pro-cure for me.

Exactly. I remember people in 2000 saying "there's not a dime's worth of difference between Bush and Gore" -- but look at the last six nightmarish years and see how disastrous it has been that people underestimated that difference.

Wow! That news story sure hit close to home for you.

Anyway Dr. Kerry thought that my Tourette Syndrome may have been caused by mercury as well.

Hello,

My Tourrette's Syndrome was caused (actually, rather ‘activated) by preservatives and chemicals (excluding mercury) in food. I stopped eating many processed foods with ingredients such as High Fructose Corn Syrup, and my Tourrette’s completely went away within a month (however it comes back temporarily whenever I eat those foods). So, the mercury idea your ex-doctor had may (emphasized) have not been incredibly far off the mark, however, chelation is definitely not the treatment to use.

However, my other friend with Tourrette’s Syndrome went on the same diet, and her symptoms hardly improved at all, so there are probably different underlying causes for Tourrette’s. Also, I believe mine may have been acquired (head injury to motor cortex at age four, which may have redirected neurons and brain pathways much closer to the area of the brain that releases chemicals, thus making brain waves in the motor cortex much more susceptible to interference by toxins in the body and brain, interestingly, this re-direction of brain pathways may have kick-started my savant syndrome as well).

Anyway, sorry for digressing the thread!
