Too impatient...hate two-parters.
I loved Harry Lloyd in the first one - I couldn't believe this was the same guy as whatshisname in Robin Hood!

Congratulations on your 2000th post.
Thanks, it only took 2 1/2 years
It was so perfectly balanced today too = 2000 posts and 1000 PMs
And money/experience I should think (it's not like the BBC has ever done anything on this scale since standards and expectations for effects and stories reached current levels
I'm so excited!
Hmm, that's too bad. I really like Tennent. My mother, though, doesn't, so I guess there's a pretty wide range of reactions to him amongst the fan base.
As for companions- I like Martha, but Rose was better. I do like how they've played up the effect her loss had on the Doctor, though.

I do think Tennent brings a passion to the role that was sometimes been lacking in other DRs; and yes I'd I agree Rose was better as a companion. I wonder how Catherine Tate will do? She was very entertining in last year's christmas special.
Is that the one with the wedding and the spidery alien? That one was fantastic, I loved it! The elaborate makeup and the over-the-top acting of the person playing the spider-alien was brilliant!

Am I going mad? I thought Kim Possible was a cartoon character.

Here’s what I think…
I thought the very first incarnation of the Dr was very good; William Hartnell portrayed a thoughtful if somewhat grouchy Dr. The second Dr was also excellent; Patrick Troughton turned the Dr into was a feisty intergalactic explorer. With Jon Pertwee the third Dr became heroic, compassionate defender of humankind. The fourth Dr…Tom Baker well what can I say; proof if proof were needed that genius and madness are related. He was and is raving lunatic and brought to the Dr many if not all his behavioural quirks and gimmicks. I felt Peter Davison (the 5th Dr) was quite good-- compassionate, intelligent but a bit of a wimp. I tried to like the sixth Dr (Colin Baker)--I really tired; but I just couldn’t connect with him. I think he was trying to be crotchety a bit like the first Dr, but for me only succeeded in being incredibly annoying most of the time. Lucky number 7--I found Sylvester McCoy was an excellent Dr (incorporating many of the best traits of the former Dr’s); although I do feel he was let by a few bad stories and rather dated special FX (by this time nobody wanted to see a man in a rubber suit pretending to by a monster). No. 8 (Paul McGann) had some good ideas but lacked soul. Enter the 9th Dr (Christopher Eccleston) and the soul was back in earnest; true the original but updated in the best possible way (although I did think he was a little underdressed to be the Dr in that jumper and leather jacket). And finally (no. 10) the current Dr David Tennant--in my opinion quite excellent if a little student-ish and melodramatic
Best
Tom Baker
David Tennant
Jon Pertwee
Christopher Eccleston
Sylvester McCoy
Patrick Troughton
William Hartnell
Paul McGann
Peter Davison

one film and he was gone.whoopie!

True he didn’t really get much of a look in; although in 1997, BBC Books published monthly adventures of the 8th Dr (not quite the same thing I know).
