I got the impression that some folks here are opposed to birth-control as well as abortion. So what Im wondering is this: what are the arguments against birth control[other than thats its "unnatural" or somehow unGodly]?
I'm all for birth control. As a matter of fact, I think the Chinese "One child per family policy" is a good idea, but doomed to failure as NTs seem to luuuuve reproducing as much as they can and consuming ever-more of the earth's finite resources as quickly as possible.
I got pregnant with Lauren while I was on the contraceptive pill, but that was down to the fact that my Hashimoto's makes all drugs react oddly, to say the least. Apparently I was lucky to manage one child; autoimmune conditions like this make getting pregnant problematic, and miscarriage a lot more likely than in the rest of the normally-hormoned population.

Max the Bear, I should have rephrased that as "God intended sex for married couples to keep to themselves"
That's fine if it is relatively easy to find a marital partner. What happens to all the people who are in long-term relationships but do not feel the need to get married? Are they supposed to miss out?
GuessWho, until God tells me what you said directly into my own ears than AFAIC you're just promulgating myths and fairytales.
The notion that "God" intended sex for married couples was initially promulgated when birth control did not exist. There is NO verse in the bible that explicitly states: Thou shalt not use birth control. The Catholic church opposes birth control because they want to maximize the number of people born into catholic families to fill the pews at their churches.
You forget, birth control is one major reason for abortion.
Yes but this thread is not about abortion-its specifically about contraception.
Might I add, it seems that Pakrat and a few others think that its a womans Duty to bear and raise children.
Well GuessWho, there's always condoms. Though they're not foolproof, in combination with spermicide it greatly decreases the odds of fertilization.
Guesswho, I think those kinds of things can be messy and icky and spoil the romantic moment.
I also think you need to realise that if you get married and your wife would like to have one or more children, she should be able to if she wishes.
If you are dead set against having ANY children, then you really need to find a woman who either is infertile or who doesn't want kiddies either.
Might I add, it seems that Pakrat and a few others think that its a womans Duty to bear and raise children.
Not precisely. If they don't want to have children, they need to take precautions or their partner does (or both of them) BUT once they are pregnant, there are two lives to consider (or more if there are multiple births).
You can have it Batman55. But if you wanna just get laid for its own sake, I recommend that you get an escort or a call girl.
You're right Martian Woman, there are NO guarantee's that birth control will work. But there are just about no guarantee's that just about anything is foolproof! Just because the odds arent 100% isnt a reason not to use Birth Control if you dont wanna get knocked up or knock your partner up!!
I really wonder what the real reason is behind the christian chastizing of masturbation. Is it just pure superstition?
If you avoid Masturbation and sex, it will come out of it's own accord in your sleep (if you're a man), maybe the stricter Cathlics will ban periods next
I think maybe it is better it comes out whilst the man is awake, cus at least that way he can enjoy it! What do you reckon?
Not just men experience *that* little phenomenon. Just it's less obvious in a woman afterwards ...

[I come from Australia, where we are very underpopulated, and am not against birth control completely - just certain methods.
If you add up the amount of arable, productive land and the amount of water available in Australia, then our population is at the moment stretching the very limits. In fact, having come from a rice farming community which has been devestated not only in recent years by drought but also by rising salt levels, I would say the elastic band has well and truly snapped.
