Yes, and that is probably why we now have a dire shortage of tradespeople because there was so much emphasis put on people getting tertiary qualifications. As far as I'm concerned, universities are being used by Western governments as de-facto child-minding centres for older teenagers and young 20's people so their unemployment statistics will look better!

I also agree with Batman55's comment about a "dark cloud" coming back to the forum.

Yes, I wonder where those ideas come from too. If they come from the university, then it is doing its students a distinct disservice.
