Just one thing…Can someone get that Giraffe to stop staring at me? lol

Admit it, QD -- you're secretly transfixed by that giraffe's sexy, come-hither gaze. Gotta love the eye-lashes.
Energeia, the students in my arts and crafts class love doing collage but have trouble taking it to the next level. I'm going to use the invitation as an example...

The first collage is my favourite. It has such wonderful patterns, but with the rich reds making the woman the focal point. The still life one also rich colours and wonderful textures.

Another collage (nowhere as good as Energeia's but I've been adding bits and pieces to this over the years)....

Thank God someone can spell! Collages, Colleges...you catch my drift. First there was the post on "half man, half bear, half pig", which most certainly would add up to 1 & 1/2 men and then the post on the "4th demension" which deserves mention for the similarity to "dementia"!
I'm not sure yet what it all means, yet, honestly.

These collages are wonderful. I don't really have the patience for them but I did a few for an art exam and found organising them before hand by colour really helped me to make the collages look realistic in the way that using something to draw does. I used those thin cheap plastic folders that go in ring binders for the different colours and cut out the different colours in pictures from the magazines before hand. I didn't further separate into shades due to time.
I generally raid my recycle bin for material. Also I used to be obsessional about collecting certain magazines so I have large stocks of them in my house for when I'm stuck. Also keeping advertisements and leaflets are useful.
