Electric Dragon, you're not going to start posting sexy pictures of your computer, are you?

But Max! Computers are sooooooo sexy!

When my husband and I were talking to each other online before meeting irl, I actually enjoyed watching his screenshots more than looking at pics of him... I guess I'm weird, huh?

Sadly, my only computer overheated and caught on fire, so I'm afraid the specs don't matter much. On the bright side, it looks like it only needs one cable replaced. But because it's an iBook that's not exactly easy. I'd been wanting a new computer for a while though, so... except that we don't have money. W/e.

I'm currently using the Lifebook I bought for my husband 2 years ago... it's like a 7.9" laptop... and then we've got a few computers and 10 or so monitors that we'll hook up again after we get our wiring done.

ten...ten monitors? :O
i have two on my main one,a 22inch widescreen and a 19inch CRT.i did have a third one,a 17inch flat on it,but that died....but TEN?

It might just be eight or nine or so... anyway, a lot. They're not mine though, they're my husband's... not sure what he wants to do with all of them either. I think he mentioned some graphics and video stuff. We got most of the monitors for free. In the apartment he had only three monitors hooked up next to each other, and that was useful for everyday kind of things. The other monitors are supposed to go on two shelves above those three, and only to be turned on when actively used.

Yep, I do think I'd rather spend time staring at your computer than at you. The glasses look good on you though (I don't think you were wearing them in your previous pics, were you?).
Ahh wonderful, I was going to create a topic just like this, thankfully it's all here Wink

Mainboard: XFX n780i
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6700 @ 2.66GHz (4 CPUs), OC'ed to 3.8ghz.
CPU-Cooler: Zalman 9700.
Memory: Apacer PC-6400 8191MB DDR-II RAM, 800 MHZ stock speed, overclocked to 1030MHZ, now running the n780i allowing an unlinked divider (allows me to run the CPU speed and RAM speed separately even though they're on the same bus ) Timings: 5-5-5-15, loosened timings to attain the high OC. 4 x 2GB sticks. There was an upgrade before this that I didn't mention in this topic. The upgrade from the G. Skill PC-6400 sticks to the Kingston HyperX PC-8500 4 sticks.
Hard Drive: 2x 500GB (1TB) drives, SATAII.
Video Card: 2 x NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT in SLI
Monitor: Philips 200WS
Computer Case: Antec 'Nine-Hundred'.
Sound Card: Creative SB Audigy
Speakers/Headphones: Creative HN-700
Keyboard: Generic does the trick Wink
Mouse: Logitech MX-400
Mouse Surface: Gel Pad
Operating System: Windows Vista™ Ultimate 64 bit to support the 8GB of ram.

It's not spectacular and I'm not rich and ungrateful. The computer market is flying, it's virtually impossible to keep up. ATM I'm working to tackle Crysis, overclocking the GPUs, attempting volt mods by changing the level resistance on the resistors to increase the GPUv and MEMv. All of the 8800GTs use Qimonda memory which hits a wall at 1000 MHz (2000 effective); they say some of the Galaxy 8800GT cards are now manufactured with Hynx and Samsung RAM which is rated to reach far into 2200 effective. I've experimented by saving up for an 8800GT from their range and it's apparently true, I was able to hit an easy 2200 MHz without touching voltage which is quite impressive.

There are a few major things I've got to change on my rig. And an upgrade to a 1200 watt PSU with a MINIMAL amount of 40amps on the 12v rail(s).

The 9900GT is on its way and the 99xx series will be using the GT200, an EXTREMELY power hungry processor despite the fact that the fabrication process remains unchanged from the G92 (65nm). Speculations are going around that it'll consume over 50amps, however, I find this untrue and bullshit.

I'll also be upgrading to the n790i Ultra SLI for the DDR-3 upgrade I plan on doing. Providing my boss doesn't sack me from my high payed job in this industry (BLOODY SALES) I might be able to do what I love doing.

I..I...I think I'm in love Tongue

seriously though.
wow.

you know your *** Tongue

you got any idea what ailed me with my 8800GTS?

With the errors you encountered I suggest checking your clock speeds. If they're not unbelievably high I would either flash the BIOS with standard clocks (if it's a factory overclocked model) or RMA the entire card and attempt to get it replaced. Seeing as you don't have it anymore you can remember to PM me in future if anything goes wrong in the latter. Cool

Ha, well, any of your computers could run mine into the ground, but I love my ancient baby nevertheless.

Maker: IBM (Before they became Lenovo)
Model: Thinkpad 600x
RAM: 256MB (not sure what kind, it's so old)
Processor: 500MHz Pentium III
Graphics Card: *laughs hysterically*what graphics? I've got a pimpin' 4MB on board card.
HArd Drive:  10 GB factory sent drive.
Battery: It wouldn't hold a charge when I got it.  I'm not gonna replace it either.
Other Features:  Only one usb port, built in mic, I use external Ethernet and Wireless cards, since none are built in.  There are few if any options for expansion.

OS:  Came with windows 98 when my teacher gave it to me, I replaced the CMOS battery so it would boot properly, and installed XP SP2.  Ran pretty well for such a box.  Eventually Switched to Ubuntu Linux, been using it for a while and I love it.

And a desktop screenshot of Ubuntu, for the heck of it:

Pikejedi:  Yep yep, PCMCIA Ethernet and Wireless cards, because I'm kickin' it old school.

I also forgot to mention that as of this evening, I finally have a working CD-ROM drive.  When I got the laptop, it would  read Cd's very rarely (Like once every 10-20 attempts).  I got tired of it, and decided to Open the cdrom tray, turn off the laptop, remove the drive, and take the tray apart, clean the internal parts, and put it back together.  I also saw that the things that hold the two rear screws of the tray to keep it flat, were hanging loose. so I taped the tray in the proper place with electrical tape, and now it works like new! hooray for inventive solutions!
E-machines?  I'm truly sorry.  They're cheap, but they are the Biggest Smurfing Pain in the Rear to work on/with.
My computer specifications??

I can turn it on Tongue

and might i add that there is no CD rom drive, and no floppy drive so installing programs from CD is out of the question however i can connect wirelessly by piggybacking a connection and download programs off of freeware or open source sites directly to my hard drive and install from there and thanks to 4 USB ports I have the option of adding an optical mouse and a portable IDE hard drive via USB which just adds more storage space and because its so compact i can take it anywhere I go Yaaaayyyy!!!! Smile

I built my Quad a little over a year ago. I used an AMD phenom4 processor. This is the computer I use most of the time. It has 4 GB of ram. I am using a 320GB IDE drive a my C drive . I have 4 1TB SATA`s for storage, with 3 more 1TB SATA`s as external drives. It is a triple boot with XP pro, Vista ultimate and Ubuntu. Never had a minutes trouble out of it. The only thing it lacks is a e-sata port, which would sure speed up reading from those external drives.
REALLY nice !   massive cooling
