the CPU heatsink looks f'king nice, but there are colder, quieter, cheaper ones out there - for example, the Sunbeam Core Contact is £29, and holds, or at least held, the number one slot for cooling AND noise on frostytech - mine held #11 for cooling, but Zalman put the noisiest fan evar on the damn thing - the design of the fins means it's not quiet either.
the Sunbeam is so efficient because the heatpipes are directly on the CPU block - if my 9700 was like that, who knows?
actually...

I LIKE OCUK

whiiiich would explain why the 550 I had blew...and why that thing buzzes when I load it.
replaced with a fully modular 750 - waiting for it to arrive.

Computer on the right is my main.
CPU: Q6600 @ 3GHz (currently..burning in new PSU),
RAM: 6GB DDR2 6400 @802MHz ( I think) 5-5-5-18,
GPU: ATi 3870 512 @ 861MHz 1161MHz Memory,
PSU: 700W Modular PSU with THE single loudest 120mm fan I have EVER heard,
HDD:1TB 7200.11g HDD,
HDD:150GB Raptor (Primary) HDD,
Mobo: GA-X38-DS5
Incorrectly routed the main ATX 20+4 cable, but I'll go back and put that right at the same time I put down the insulating strips for the PSU proper.

Computer on the left is built out of my spares.
CPU: P4 Dual Core @ 3.0GHz,
RAM: 3GB DDR2 6400 @800MHz, 5-5-5-18
GPU: 8800GTS 320 @ 570MHz,
Mobo: DP965LT Motherboard (yeah, I know),
PSU: "650"W PSU,
crappy cabling.

gee, can you guess which one got all the care and attention?
I still need to go back and finish up the main one, but...I'm happy with it. need to replace the DAMNED fan in the PSU though.
and yes, that is a towel.
I'm a hoopy frood, shuddup.
As an aside, I hate my sisters camera, and I can't wait to get mine repaired.

goddamnit, I hate backing up.
(funny story; Windows 7 can do stuff to a harddrive that renders Vista unable to read it - I've had to buy another 1tb drive, I'm currently copying everything over, then I'll reformat the original as a Simple Volume again. Fun stuff.)

I was too lazy to take a pic of my computer so there it is as far as specs are concerned they are below (the very basic info)
Acer Aspire One 10 inch model
Windows XP
1.6 ghz Intel Atom processor with 1 GB ram
and might i add that there is no CD rom drive, and no floppy drive so installing programs from CD is out of the question however i can connect wirelessly by piggybacking a connection and download programs off of freeware or open source sites directly to my hard drive and install from there and thanks to 4 USB ports I have the option of adding an optical mouse and a portable IDE hard drive via USB which just adds more storage space and because its so compact i can take it anywhere I go Yaaaayyyy!!!!
SNAP!

This, but with 120GB HDD.
Also, you missed out builtin wireless and bluetooth.

Replaced that fan this morning.
Twice now I've walked in the room and had to double check it was on.

OHSHI-
You shop at maplins?
Actually, that was a Christmas present - a stocking filler.
Best damned stocking filler evar.
I've bought from Maplins before, but I tend to stick to OCUK and Novatech, depending on what I'm ordering and what's cheaper.
