The remedy is defense!

The "cycle of abuse" is a myth. Like many intuitively appealing ideas, it does not stand up to scientific scrutiny. The vast majority of abused children grow up to be very good parents, and an alarming number of doted upon children grow up to be abusers. The data came in more than 20 years ago and keeps coming in, but the "myth" retains currency. There is a reason I know this -- I wanted to. What is it that you want to know?

In my childhood it was still considered smacking to hit across the face, across the back of the head, the arms, legs or bottom.  This was always done in anger.  If someone hits you in anger, you feel anger towards them and you DO NOT respect them. Instead you are fearful of them.  Respect and fear are NOT the same thing.

Due to my childhood experiences I have had significant problems standing up to people, including authority figures (who aren't always right) and bullies.  I also have a lot of trouble thinking under pressure.

Calling people on their *** does not make me a troll.....................

I'm with grizeldatee, hit em back. Kids like to play wrestle with their parents Its just one of those things, even NT's do that. Stop trying to pin everything on AS and just play with your kids .

And if its not just the hitting but its a real problem with them being wild, then go ahead and feel free to spank them. Aspies understand what a solid spank means. Discipline is the key.
