I just wanted anyone to know if they like musicals as much as I do. I always fall in love with musicals like Cats and Phantom. Right now, I'm trying to get the music from Evita but Cats will always be my faveorite. I know everything about that musical from the actors to the songs!
Come on! Someone must have seen Phantom or something!
I know 'Le Misérables'. The death/dying theme almost made me cry the first time I heard it. I have heard two different recordings; one has the more upright and sensitive singers but a horrible DX-7 keyboard, the other one has an overall better sound but/and more polished vocals. I have only a recording of the first one and I can recite every song.
Ah, and of Loyd Webber, I just know 'Jesus Christ Superstar', because I learned to play all the songs on bass guitar for a school performance. After having rehearsed every songs with all vocalists and a choir and such with our band, the school board cancelled the actual performance due to unresolved copyright issues.
I haven't seen that one but I would really like too. Also, if you liked that one, you'd also like Jospeh!
I adore the musical "Wicked". I know every song by heart. Even the instrument parts.
I was taking voice lessons for a while last year, and my teacher only played showtunes, so even though I've not seen all that many musicals, I know a lot of songs. Once I've learned a song, it takes years and years to forget it.
Let's see. I know several from Pocahontas (horrible movie, but I love the music), I know "A Change In Me" from Beauty and the Beast, "The Girl I Mean To Be" from The Secret Garden, ummm..... a lot more. I won't list all of them.
My voice is naturally pitched fairly low, so I usually sing songs ith a lot of low notes and not many high notes. Even though I haven't practiced all year, I can still hit the low D at the end of "I'm Not That Girl" (from Wicked), and most girls I know can't.
Last one I saw was Miss Saigon - there was some seriously hot girls in the performance!!

Me and mother get to see Phantom in Las Vegas.
