i was watching this week's episode on nbc (thankfully the autie hater is out), but there was one scene near the end of the second segment where the president (and a mutant) is talking to a scientist about how to "cure" the mutants.  for those who don't know, heroes seems to be a simular plot to the x-men and written by some of the same people who wrote the movies.  but pretty much the scientist found that the condition was hard wired into their dna and they cannot change or be "cured" without being killed, and the president wants to genocide the mutants as self defense to protect the normal people.

i saw this as a realistic secnario if autistics are seen as mass killers, we'll be stripped of our rights, etc.

I watched the episode and I got thought the same thing that you did.  how close it was to real life.  Gets you thinking whether this could actually happen.

Which one would that be?

I saw it too and thought it to be an interesting correlation. I don't necessarily think that we're really on the verge to being viewed as mass killers. I'd like to think that if it really started getting that heated than some of us non-mass killers would be forced to come out... It would take a rather large act (like a huge a-bomb going of in NYC... for instance) for that kind of "unity through fear" to really take hold... if the TV show teaches us anything about reality.

That whole crazy plotline shift really did my brain over. I really liked the anti-cure sentiments though not a big fan of the whole genocide thing.

one more thing...one of the charatchers, hana (wi-fi girl), is suspected to be an aspie based on some fan theories.
