Does anybody else here enjoy the movies offered by Troma Entertainment?

Troma is best known for cheap "blood and guts" movies, but it also has some unusual comedies.  Probably the best known of its products are the Toxic Avenger movies.  You may have also heard of Cannibal, the Musical.  They also have an annual film festival, TromaDance, which is their answer to Sundance.  I have some compilation DVDs from TromaDance and just skip to my few favorite short films when watching any of them.

What made me think to start a thread about Troma on this site was a detail in one of their movies, titled Fatty Drives the Bus, in which Satan learns a tour bus will crash in Chicago later in the day and then disguises himself as a tour guide so he can claim the tourists' souls.  The tourists are a bunch of obnoxious people including an eccentric couple that doesn't want to get off the bus at any of the stops.  Those two characters could easily fit the definition of aspie.
I LOVE CANNIBAL, THE MUSICAL.  I haven't seen any other Troma movies - just the previews available on the Cannibal DVD, but some of them look pretty .. interesting.  Anyway, yeah.  Very much enjoy that particular Troma production.

YES! Renee (b.s. johnson) first turned me on to Toxic Avenger
Troma offices are right up the street from my mother in laws.

As a huge fan of Matt Stone and Trey Parker, I've watched Cannibal! The Musical at least three hundred times (that isn't an exaggeration). None of the other Troma films really appealed to me though. I've seen parts of Terror Firmer and the first Toxic Avenger film, but that's it.

I don't really consider Cannibal to be a true Troma film however, as it was not affiliated with Troma in any way during its production. Troma released it on DVD years after it was made and got it some publicity, but that's it.
Saw some Troma films a while back…good fun and most entertaining.
I've got Cannibal, the Musical but I don't watch it very often.  For some reason, it crashes my cheap DVD player.  I watch the TromaDance DVDs all the time.  That's because I usually can't stay awake long enough to watch a full movie, so I resort to the short films.

I've met Lloyd Kaufmann a few times.  He's often a guest at sci-fi conventions, including two that I attend every year.  If you ever get a chance to see his one-hour seminar (entitled "Make Your Own Damn Movie"), do it!
I forgot to mention, for those who are not familiar, Lloyd Kaufman (with one 'n', not two) is the director of Troma.
