European royalty.

I'm probably the only person in England who was thinking last week, what a pity the Concert for Diana clashed with the christening of Princess Isabella of Denmark - another missed opportunity for Will & Harry to get to know their continental counterparts. Up to now the Queen has tended to send the Wessexes (Ed & Soph) to the European jollies, but Sophie's just announced she's pregnant again at the ripe age of 42. So will any of the Windsors go to Princess Victoria of Sweden's 30th birthday party?

Victoria is the firstborn of the current King & Queen of Sweden and are therefore to be labeled Crown Princess.

Yes, I'm aware of that. I must have been in too much of a hurry to include the word "Crown".
Of course not all firstborn daughters of monarchs get to be Crown Princess, e.g. Martha Louise of Norway, Elena of Spain.

Curious. What's that?

Internet Engineering Task Force?

I once put my grandmother's book collection in alphabetical order. She wasn't too happy because in so doing I mixed up the children's and grown-up's fiction!

Did you predict the British floods?

Damn right - the ones who author most of the RFCs

Was it recently? Because no...I like to keep to my own continent right now

It sure was.

And being on another continent is no excuse - check out the (British) Met Office's role in forecasting Hurricanes Katrina and Rita:

Funky Squad!!!  It's an Aussie TV comedy that lasted seven episodes 12 years ago, and was then quietly taken out and shot, never to return.  It was a parody of old 70s cop shows and, although this seems to be a minority opinion, I found it immensely funny and love it to bits.  It starred Tim Ferguson from the Doug Anthony All Stars (he's done lots of stuff since then, but back then I think that's what he was best known for) and Santo Cilauro, Jane Kennedy and Tom Gleisner from D-Generation.  I loved it so much that, frustrated that there was very little online about it, I built my own episode guide: http://funkysquadepisodeguide.blogspot.c...lcome.html

Uh, just to clarify... the D-Generation in my post is an Aussie comedy team, no relation to the wrestling D-Generation X Roadie mentioned.  Small world.  Smile

Was it a cartoon?  If so, could be Li'l Elvis Jones?  Or it might've been called Li'l Elvis and the Truckstoppers - I'm a bit vague!

Doesn't seem to have a wikipedia page.

I seem to be getting a new one too, Nyanchan.  It's the only explanation for why I've spent the last three days watching Paul McDermott songs on YouTube, despite never having shown a lot of interest in either Paul or YouTube before.

I don't doubt this for a moment... but do we know why a lump of fibre used to kill a convicted criminal was considered to have lucky properties?  Humans are so strange...

So did any Euro royals go to the memorial service?

Hello! didn't mention any.

I've decided, on the basis of some very tenuous (and mostly nonexistent) evidence, that my favourite character from Funky Squad is a closet Aspie.  I'm very happy about this, even though I know it's completely delusional...
