Campus killer Cho Seung-Hui was diagnosed with autism after his family emigrated to the United States, according to a relative in South Korea.
"from the beginning,he wouldnt answer me,"said Kim Yang-soon,85,Cho's great aunt."[he] didnt talk.Normally sons and mothers talk.there was none of that for them.He was very cold." She added:"when they went to the United States, the told them it was autism."
Cho's uncle gave a similar account, but said there had been no early indications that the student-who killed 32 people and himself at Virginia Tech University-had serious problems.
The uncle, who asked to be identfied by his last name,Kim,said:"he didnt display and peculiaritys to suggest he may have problems."
Autism encompasses a range of symptoms including impaired social interaction and communication,as well as obsessive interests and behaviour. However,in previous reports f Cho's dealings wiht mental health professionals, the diagnosis of autism has not been mentioned.Mr Kim said his nephew left South Korea with his family in 1992.He had not recognised Cho when his picture apeared on Tv as te culprit in the deadliest shootings in US history.
"i am devastated." Mr Kim said. "i dot know what i can tell the victims families and the US citiznes.i sincerely apologise....as a family member."
He said he has been unable to reach Chos mother since Mondays massacre. She and her husband work at a dry cleaners in washington.Fomer classmates said Cho's speech problems and shyness had made him a target for bullying and ridicule as a schoolboy in the US.
Chris Davids, who graduated with the killin in 2003 from the Westfield High School in Chantilly,Virginia, said students had laughed at Cho's strange, deep voice, which sounded "like he has something in his mouth".
In a video Cho mailed to NBC,the 23-year-old portrays himself as persecuted.
His 81-year-old maternal grandfather-also identified by his last name,Kim-told South Korean newspapers that relatives had feared Cho might be mute as a child

Imagine starting a new job and someone finds out about your autism. Walking into a staffroom and catching the tail end off a conversation "...Yeah Rossco has. Just like that guy in America, Cho...Oh Hi Rossco"

I'm Aggressive, Violent, and well armed...
Luckily, I have a Paintball field to unleash all of that aggression, violence, and armaments.
I kept an especially low profile in the office today, as Autism was apparantly the hot topic. Then, being the resident gun-nut, naturally they all decided to call me Autistic.
Hahaha, I wonder how freaked out they would be if they knew the truth!
I'm very strict with my guns. Everything has to be perfect, with everyone wearing goggles or at least a Barrel Blocker on it before I even gas the things up. Other players are a bit more relaxed, and do it without goggles...Well, I'll be there, laughing as their eyeballs are accidentally blown out!
This is complete bs. He did not have as and he certainly didn't have autism because he started speaking at a young age. Maybe he was just quiet as a kid? This whole "he had autism" *** really aggravates me. Not only that, but the fact that some of us are getting picked on and labelled is terrible.
Well I understand that you can speak and then slowly stop speaking altogether forever. But I personally haven't read (and I apologize for my inexperience and knowledge of that particular subject) that could happen. Plus, I still strongly believe unless I hear a Doctor's report on the media, that it isn't true. That being because no FBI profiler has mentioned it. The media concocting this story is just so that they can further their plans to kill autistics off.
I know, I was late to speak and form full sentences but once I did I started fast and was reading novels at a very young age. Just that I still don't believe he's an autie.
