hah! right oh, And thanks for your tag-line "stay off topic" LOL
Seems a slight difference between Yanks and Brits on this. Quite a discussion ensued on WP when I posted it there. Big "0" here on AFF.
Thanks for stopping bye........
Nah... I'm in purgatory...
Yes, I don't think the Pope will get rid of purgatory. Limbo was a lot more controversial - it was thought that babies who died before they were baptised went to limbo rather than heaven. I can certainly see why parents would have found it distressing to think that these children wouldn't make it to heaven.
Hey! Pakrat! Do you know who Nick Cave is? He was drunk once; on the pope's blood...

Where else? Now that Limbo is gone. I'm not versed in the dogma of Catholicism. I suppose I'm in purgatory too! Hah!
I preferred Limbo...

Yeah, I know who Nick Cave is. Not even!
Personally, I don't think that a pope has the authority to say that an entire plane of existance dosn't exist any more.
And why would he say that anyways? What is the point of getting rid of Limbo?
If there is a God, why in the world would he communicate with one man or a group of men and have them pass the knowledge down to the rest of us? A real God would have the power to communicate with all of us individually. But if he did (or does) men seeking power would tell us not to listen to that voice in our head, but to listen to them in their church, or TV show etc. That is how they get control over us.
