...I don't think they are really though, on second thought. If they were condemning bullying in their inflammatory, insulting message (which is itself bullying), that would be hypocrisy. This person seems to be brushing bullying off as trivial and harmless, though, so they probably aren't overly concerned about hurting the target of their message emotionally.

Speaking of which, I don't quite see how bullying ties into the argument this person's trying to make. In fact, almost everything this person says is just unsubstantiated attacking on Proud2's character, a complete tangent from their main point (and ultimately irrelevant to it). Sad Idjit. Can't stand it when people do that. I wouldn't say "too emotional to be an aspie", exactly, but mocking everyone who disagrees with you in lieu of actually explaining the reasoning and evidence behind your opinions does not seem a very aspie-like approach to debate. But I'm generalizing, of course.

I admitted that I was being a little rude and apologized to her. I hoped that would inspire her to do the same, but I was wrong. While I believe that all autistics/Aspies have a right have rights to their own personalities, I think that HFAs/Aspies supporting a cure is kind of selfish because while they may see it as something given to them because they want it, it will be given to children indiscriminately. Parents will seek the cure without thinking about the fact that they're depriving their child of his/her right to his/her brain. Besides, being autistic is not an illness. It's just a different state of being.

Before staring a fight spread across several threads, I would humbly suggest you first click on Ethel's name, click on 'find all posts by this user' and read everything she has to say on a variety of subjects.

I have done similar in the past; it gives a new member a chance to catch up on long-standing 'personalities' on the forum and gives you an insight into their true character.

Ethel is one of the unsung heroes of AFF.

Yes, but a new member may read all of a long standing member's posts and agree with most of them but still clash over one or two things. Why should a new member have to humbly bow before an established member? Aren't we all equal here?

I don't think Ethereal would normally behave so badly unless she was suffering stress in her life. THAT's what I meant. Actually, she has admitted as much. But you obviously have decided to dislike her anyway. That's not your normal behaviour!

Opps, I didn’t mean to suggest that I disliked her (quite the opposite actually). I only meant to say she’s able to get upset without someone else encouraging her. Ethereal is a complex character; a nice person but she’s sensitive and can get upset sometimes.
I most definitely don’t dislike her; in fact my post was intended to defend her; in case it was being implied that she was part of some strange conspiracy or something (the whisperings). I’ve obviously got the wrong end of the stick. Apologies.

Yes indeed. I might add that Lucie should have been banned months before she actually was.

I had thought that Lucie's shenanigans were at the bottom of much of the malaise we'd been suffering last year and this year but now it seems to me it was more a symptom than a cause.
